I recently won 4 of these brilliant little players and although i need the money i decided to keep one of them as it was just to exciting not to as im a bit of a gadget geek ; ).
So after i decided to keep one i couldn't wait to get it out of its packaging which its self is not any thing brilliant just a small card box with limited design on it. Any way i finally prised it from its box to find an incredibly stylish and very sexy looking player i must admit. it fits very comfortably in your hand and is very thin about 5mm and incredibly light. It has a very nice shiny white front with gorgeous aluminum silver edging giving it a very professional and expensive look to it.
I wont bother telling you about the buttons as you can see them on the picture but what you cant see is there is a handy hold button on the back of the player.
The screen on this little player is brilliant bright and crystal clear the trailer of spider man 3 preloaded to all of the players looks brilliant and you can even turn the video to play side ways so you get a kind of wide screen look its a brilliant little feature overlooked but many other players. The main menu is also very nice although the sub menus don't look brilliant just a plain looking writing but it doesn't really bother me as the playing screen is very nice with the album cover coming up on the screen and all the album and artist details.
The navigation between menus is amazing there are so many different ways to find what you want making it an enjoyable experience finding artists and songs.
There are many customizable features on the player one of the strongest being the graphic equalizer which actually works and for any one who likes music there way or knows what they are doing you can get a brilliant sound. Another great feature is you can change the sound from many different sounds eg live, studio, and a great one karaoke which cleverly drops the frequencies of the vocals so that you basically have a backing track of the song to. The shuffle options are great to there is your slandered shuffle and then a time machine shuffle which picks a year and plays all the tracks from that year which is rather fun.
For any one that is fed up of players being to quite this wont let you down i always used to have my players up on full and it was never load enough but this one i am a good 5 of the max its brilliant and the quality of the sony headphones are brilliant they are in ear sound counsellings ones which means they block out the sounds from out side so you can hear the music clearer and loader and the music is played through two parts of the head phones the mid and high frequencies are played through the main part of the headphone and the bit in your ear plays the bass giving the range that you can hear much higher unlike a lot of headphones which play every thing together and it gets wishy washy !!.
The players battery life is outstanding and better than any other players i know and wipes the floor against ipods as it is 33hours and this isn't just a figure trust me it really does last this long.
Loading songs onto the player couldn't be any easier No software needed just plug in with lead given and drag and drop your tracks on couldn't be any faster. It also plays a lot of different formats to so no messing about with converters is needed.
As for price in the shops you can pick these up for about £80 but if any one lives near croydon ish i am selling 3 of them in black for £60 so let me know if your interested.
Not really sure what else to say about this brilliant little player cant rave about it enough i highly recommend it.

As ... ...put my music onto the Sony Walkman NWZ-A816 from a Windows 2000 Professional Laptop with Service Pack 4. It treats is like a Jumpdrive and you just take your music from your hard drive and copy paste. Remember not to unplug the USB Wire at any time when uploading. This could lead to corrupt data, and that's never good, is it?

This device benefits from a simple drag and drop transfer which means that your computer will recognise the device and will let you "Drag & Drop" your files from your computer over to your player.
It is multiple codec compatible, meaning if your songs are in MP3, WMA or Linear PCM format then this player will play them.
The reason this player is described as a "media" player is because it will also ... ...LCD colour screen. However I have found difficulty formating videos to play on this device, as it lacks documentation regarding formating videos and doesn't supply suitable software to make the process easy. Even though I can now get videos to play on this it required me to get external software and do a lot of fiddling. I wouldn't recommend this player as a "video" player.

I have just recently purchased this MP3/MP4 player (£65 Amazon). I wanted something that was stylish, small, easy to use and gave good sound quality. I wanted it firstly for the music aspect, but also something to play with in the sense of MP4's and storing pictures. This unit does it all, plus more.

...to believe that ipod out-sell sony to such an extent when sony are delivering such good walkmans. To begin with, the sony walkmans have a far superior sound capability. With such features as DSEE sound enhancement, "clear stereo," VTP surround and the dynamic normaliser available to enhance the all round quality of the tracks you listen to, ipod cannot compare. Also, the screen on the walkman has a crystal clear resolution. I would go as far to say ... ...it on the walkman - provided there were no glaring distractions! Therefore, it really does become a great travel companion. Finally, the earphones have been designed to perfection, with the only downfall being the lack of wireless capabilities - however I am sure sony will blaze the trail soon enough! ...
