This 4GB media player plays your music with the quality and integrity it deserves, I really do personally love this thing! When choosing a media player the first thing that I believe to be of upmost importance is that music has to sound great through it. There are a lot of media players out there that offer an ubundance of features however lacks when it comes to actually providing the tones and the equalisation that gets you excited. This is where the Sony A816 wins gold.
This device benefits from a simple drag and drop transfer which means that your computer will recognise the device and will let you "Drag & Drop" your files from your computer over to your player.
It is multiple codec compatible, meaning if your songs are in MP3, WMA or Linear PCM format then this player will play them.
The reason this player is described as a "media" player is because it will also play video files and display photos on using its 2" LCD colour screen. However I have found difficulty formating videos to play on this device, as it lacks documentation regarding formating videos and doesn't supply suitable software to make the process easy. Even though I can now get videos to play on this it required me to get external software and do a lot of fiddling. I wouldn't recommend this player as a "video" player.
I would give this player 5 stars for the way it handles and plays your music, I wouldn't swap this for anything. However its poor on the way its supposed to play video files and as this is a "media" player it makes it a 4 star media player.
So.. for the music lover, this is the greatest product out there. But for the video lover, maybe try something else.
