Advantages sleek, stylish look, great sound quality, comes with wall charger.

Disadvantages monochrome screen, hard to get used to the controls.

I've always liked the styling and high quality of Sony products and this is no exeption!

Ipod owning friends have mocked at how much Sony's compression squashes each track but I've found the quality to be very impressive on the default settings.

I thought 8Mb might not take all of my modest CD collection and I'd be wishing I'd bought the 30Gb version but I haven't even used half of the disk.

There's no colour screen or video/photo facility but who needs it. It's supposed to be an MP3 player after all.

The interface is easy to use but it takes some time to get used to and it has some nice features.

Some have raised issues with the software but I can say I've not really had any problems. You can convert your CDs as and when and then transfer them en masse.

If you want to be different, do yourself a favour and get one of these.

    Good review but could do with some more info to gain higher ratings. Take a look at other reviews to get an idea of the level of info that is needed to gain higher ratings. x
