I already have an Ipod Shuffle which I love as I have a waterproof casing for it which allows me to swim and listen to my music.
I thought I would treat myself to this sony for just going to the gym.
Firstly it's size is only 3" long and barely an inch wide.
It has a very shiney attractive finish and once figuring out how to work all the buttons I found it quite easy to operate.
The player has a small led display panel but I would say you need really good eyesight to read it as it's tiny.
Player is charged through PC using usb connection. A full charge takes 60mins and the led display will show full allowing you to know when to remove it.
There are various playmodes which can be configured through the menu button.
If you like you can set the display to show the time or it can be set to show your folders which allows you to seperate all your favourite tracks into different catagories.
You can also set it to shuffle or even a sports timer.
The Sony software isn't the best I've used but after playing around with it I found the easiest way for me was to make up playlists, name them and transfer automatically.
The earphones are OK and are a neat fit but I've had much better supplied earphones.
Sound quality is very good for the price but I would have to say the Ipod Shuffle has the edge on the Sony NW-E002 for sound only.
Overall ,I would recommend this player. The many features it has for the price paid (£39) makes it a real good buy.
The only disadvantage I found was the lack of a lanyard or waist clip but I just slip it in my pocket.
