Sony Walkman NW-E003 MP3
Ahh the first review of a new item, where do I begin…
Right I will start by giving you a personal opinion about what I like and dislike about the player. I recently purchased the Sony Walkman when my Apple ipods battery packed in. There has been a lot of controversy recently regarding the battery life of the ipods so when mine packed I was gutted. £250 down the pan. After loosing out on this amount of money I vowed never ... ...I randomly came across the Sony Walkman NW-E003. The first thing I noticed about the player was how small and compact it was compared to the ipod. To give you a perfect idea of the size of the unit I would say it was slightly bigger than a cocktail sausage. The unit is an elegant pink colour with the LCD screen behind the plastic covering which helps protect the screen. The player has a very easy to use interface with only a few easy to use buttons.

Advantages: Cheap, Small, attractive, fast recharging battery Disadvantages: LCD screen hard to read in sunlight, sound not loud enough
...The Sony Walkman is small and compact, weighing as little as 25g and no bigger than 3inchs in length, and about 1cm in depth. It has an attractive coloured plastic covering the software inside. The MP3 player connects directly into your computers USB port by removing the silver plastic covering at the end of the player. It has a small LCD screen which displays the name of the song, the artist or the name of the album but not all this information ... ...dead. The Sony Walkman comes with it's own Sony headphones which are useful because they are fairly long in wire meaning I can keep my MP3 player in my bag while I walk. It also comes with it's only Sony software that uploads the songs onto your player. This is simple to install and use and I have not experienced any problems using this software. For some however this may be regarded as a downside to the MP3 player as many will be reluctant to install ...

Advantages: Long battery life, quick charge Disadvantages: Have to use Sony's Sonicstage software. Display hard to read in sunlight.
...20 albums worth on here. Sony reckon that if you use their ALTRAC format at 64kbps you can get up to 45 albums on here. I haven't used their format so I can't comment on the sound quality here.
To transfer music onto this player you have to use Sony's Sonicstage software, you cannot just drag & drop your files from Windows Explorer. The more tech savvy and those who are unkeen to install extra software may find this quite annoying but once the program ... ...battery life.
Quick charge facility.
Small, compact player.
Lightweight.
Good sound quality.
Easy operation.
Bad points:
Display impossible to read in sunlight.
Enforced use of Sony Sonicstage software.
Overall this is a good buy for those wanting a small, compact MP3 player with excellent battery life. ...

Advantages: Size, simple software, USB charging facility, its a Sony Disadvantages: Small display, accessory skin over priced
...piece, CD to load on Sony software & a pile of instruction manuals in different langauges(?!) There is no charging lead so charging is carried out by plugging the unit into a computer with the USB connector loctaed under the removable cap. A power monkey can also be used if you have one. Battery life is decent & although short of features this little MP3 player plays good quailty sound with four simple controls plus a 'lock' feature. The front display ... ...read. The sofware that Sony supply makes transferring music from computer to MP3 very simple indeed, I already have a Sony lap top which is pre-loaded with the same software. Gripes? Only one, a plastic protective skin is available from Sony for around £12.00 which is a complete rip off. ...

Sony = Quality
Technology giants Sony broke the mould with this slimline mp3 that was released about a year ago. I first obtained mine as a replacement for a packard bell one had as a crimbo present that unfortunately died after only a few months. I was not totally convined at first, as my previous one had a screen for displaying pictures, which this did not.
I soon fell in love with this nippy and efficient machine. One of the many features of ... ...teh sound quality is typical Sony beauty. I have dropped mine countles times, not a scratch, with teh display being protected by a think plastic cover.
The only fault i can find with the mp3 is the poor software, rather than use windows media, Sony invested in its own multimedia software named 'Sonicstage'. This is slow at the best of times, and constantly glitches to a total stop, although it does have an excellent CD-ROM write feature.
Excellent ...
