This is my second Sony clock radio the last lasted for over 10 years, now was the time to update the technology DAB was a must. I loved the design of the Sony XDR-C705DAB particularily the size and clock display. However, I didn't like the price. However, I was lucky to pick up an Argos Clearance bargain via Ebay.
The radio, clock and alarm features are great, it takes a little while to familiarise yourself to the menu logic and settings but after 7-8 minutes I was away. You plug in for the first time and unit automatically sets the right time and day. There is a UK specific DAB scan that worked beautifully. Setting the alarms were the fiddliest but wonder of wonders it has an automatic feature for weekdays or weekends just the ticket for our house. the reception on DAB is pefect, I would have loved some sound adjustment (treble/bass) as the units tone is a touch to sharp for my taste but this is a tiny thing.
