review of hercules mp3 djay control

Advantages: easy to install and understand, very cheap, good features very small and portable
Disadvantages: No headphone jack, space slightly cramped with buttons, requires seperate sound card for cueing

This little piece of kit really surprised me. I happened to have sixty pounds of argos vouchers to spend last year and while in the shop i made an impulse buy resulting in me owning the the hercules. the vouchers where burning a whole in my pocket and if i had thought about it longer i probably would'nt have bought it The unit itself is one piece with only one connection ( usb). it is absoloutley tiny for the features included such as , 2 jog wheels ...
...rotary knobs, the channel faders, the volume rotary's ( per channel) and you also have 3 different live looping options ( you can loop certain parts of songs on the fly while the music is playing and keeping in time) the buttons used for looping can also be used to add other effects when used under the other function. the system is supplied with the virtual dj software which basicaly works like your top end mp3 mixing softwares such as final scratch ...

Hercules - DJ Console MK2 - Mixer and Soundcard

Advantages: Lot of fun, yet a serious device at the same time.
Disadvantages: Jog/Scratch wheel not placed in the best position on the device.

Advantages: clears up the record,removes all clicks, quick and easy to use
Disadvantages: the instructions are not that clear

brilliant for recording lps (records) to the computer....quick and easy just plugs into the lp player then tho the computer simple. You can also clear all fuzzyness and scratches from the song A. Record the song in high volume or low volume can listen to the songs as you are transfering them or plug a set of head phones in and not hear it. Great quality if a little outdated.

Advantages: 8 mono channels, balanced inputs and outputs.
Disadvantages: Need to install PCI card.
