when i first saw the film at the movies i couldn't believe that it could be a movie remembered not for the performances or the story but for it's music. Placebo, Fatboy slim, Blur, Counting crows, Faithless, Verve and so many other great artists can be found in this cd. If nothing else, buy this soundtrack only to remember the scene at the funeral where you could hear the bitter sweet symphony by the verve. There can always be people who say that ... Read review

His main friend is sergeant Harper, and the othermain characters in the group we get to know are rilfleman Harris and of course rifleman Hagman who sings his uplifting songs as they march onward to another adventure. ...this cd is good for sharpe fans as it just instantly brings to mind the gorgeous Sean Bean and gets me in the mood for historical adventures of passion and honour and glorious battles!! However its also great for non-sharpe addicts too especially if they like folk music, as there are some really beautiful songs here, nice for background music or to play more loudly for the passionate ones. If you've seen the movie, and love the music in it, pick up this single disc reissue of the original classic 2-LP album. I have the original record album and played it quite frequently. It's good to hnag on to, but in the past year I bought this single disc and don't have to worry about this getting worn out. All the original songs from the film are here. Les Miserables follows an ex-convict called Jean Valjean, as he is turned aside from a life of crime to a life of charity and love, caring for a young girl he adopts whilst all the while having to avade capture by Police Inspector Javert. Monsieur and Madame Thernadier are suitably nasty, but are too cockney and don't convey enough venom in my opinion. Eponine on the other hand is quite, frankly, dreadful.
