The fifth in the ever popular discworld series sees the lovable rincewind trying to save the discworld again! i bet he gets sick of this dont you?

THE STORY:
Im not going to tell you to much other wise you will miss out on a great read but im going to tell you the basic plot, right it all begins with the power of eight, you see if a man as eight sons who have eight sons, the eighth son is a wizzard, simple enough see, but now lets say this wizzard decided that he doesnt want to be celebate and he goes and has eight sons we have a sourcer on our hands.

Right back in the early days and the wild magic days on the discworld there was sourcers everywhere! these days were a bit dangerous to be alive in, everyday you wasnt sure what you would wake up as, eventually the sourcers died out and wizzards took over the discworld.

Now we have our first sourcer in a very long time and his name is COIN, you see hes only a child but his staff (which has a secret) holds his power and soon hes causing a little bit of havoc on the old tired discworld.

Now for some reason it falls upon the shoulders of RINCEWIND to save the day, to me this is a dumb idea as a wizzard his powers are very limited, along the way he meets two other characters who help him out the daughter of Cohan the barbarian named CONINA and a training hero NIJEL.

Now the book is full of classic terry pratchett funny moments to mention a real clever story, the book is a great read.

THE DISCWORLD:
Ill explain the discworld to you so you get a better picture of the setting, the discworld is a planet shaped disc that goes through space on top of four giant elephants that ride upon the bak of a giant space turtle called A'TUIN. Make any sense?? of course not its not surposed to lol

CHARACTERS:
Here we go alittle bit of info about each character so you can get a feel for what they are like in the book,

RINCEWIND - i do feel sorry for the poor chap, he gets in more tough spots then anyone else on the discworld, in this book he is back to himself run for danger and avoid any work where possible, but it appears he must stop young COIN and try to save the discworld once again, i bet he wonders why he bothers he never gets thanked!

COIN - the young sourcer i think hes 10 cant quite remeber his age, anyway moving on, like i said hes the sourcer with incerible powers he can use magic like no other, but its wild magic he can use and this is upsetting the balance of the discworld, he carries a magical staff that his dead farther gave to him.

CONINA - shes a wannabe hair dresser but cant seem to hold sharp objects with out trying to kill some one, maybe the fact that her dad is Cohan the barbarian, the greatest hero on the discworld, she helps RINCEWIND on his mission and happens to fall in love with our next character.

NIJEL - he is a young wannabe hero, happens to have a leather outfit and a wool chainmail vest (dont ask), he has a training book that tells you how to be a hero, unlucky for him he cant seem to get the hang of all this hero lark, he helps RINCEWIND along the way and finds his love in CONINA.

LUGGAGE - hes back and more full of life (in a sense) then ever before, the luggage is a trunk that has hundreds of tiny feet not to mention a lid that can snap a mans arm off in one!

FRONT COVER:
This one gives us a good idea about the story we see most of the characters from the book on the front, i love the bright colours they really do draw your eye to the book.

OVERALL:
This book is a good read you will laugh and cry mostly at the same time from the wit, the book sees us return to one of the best characters RINCEWIND not to mention LUGGAGE, the way it is written does make it easy to read and very hard to put down!

PRICE:
I got my copy for £6.99 from WH SMITH but try amazon and ebay for cheaper copies.
