Space NK Apothecary (Shop)

It quite often happens that I’ll be flicking through the beauty pages of a magazine and I’ll come across a product that I know I just have to have. Unfortunately, most of the time in magazines like Vogue or In Style, it’s not going to be the kind of brand that you’ll find down your local Boots store. Luckily for me, a few years ago I discovered SpaceNK apothecary, which is the equivalent of the holy grail for beauty fiends and cosmetic junkies like myself! I had heard about Space NK apothecarys from the various beauty magazines and internet forums and used to think I could only find one of these stores either in London (or Dublin as the creator of this chain is an Irish lady called Nicky Kinnaird). I was surprised to find this small store in Manchester during my Christmas holiday break a few days ago (at the Trafford Centre, Manchester M60 between J9 and 10). I recently visited the Space NK shop in Chester and was hugely impressed. On entering the store, the assistant greeted me, asked me was I ok to browse and to let her know if I needed anything. I asked about a dark circle eye cream (astonomically priced) . She took me on one side, asked a lot of questions, then advised me that it would not be any good. She then went on to give me a demonstration on how to conceal the dark circles. Very professional even though she was on her own and there were other customers present. I got so excited when i first learned of this shop. Being a cosmetcis junkie it seemed just the right place for me to buy all the latest high fashion cosmetics. I am well aware of the expense of these cosmetics, but I'd rather buy a high quality blush than a jumper. I have been to a few Space NK stores mainly in London, (where i live) and also Glasgow city centre, whilst visiting relatives. The stores are large and airy, with the products (cosmetics, hair, skin, and body potions and lotions) all beautifully arranged and well presented. Space NK specialise in selling French and American cosmetics that you won't find in main department stores. This cult cosmetic chain store always project a very posh image. i.e. I can't afford it. But to my surprise, I have actually discovered they sell some of the cosmetics brand cheaper than other department stores and even website companies. Example 1: I bought Jurlique Recovery Gel from a department store along Regent Street (work it out which one it is yourself, I am not doing name and shame here)for 38.50pounds and I discovered Space NK is selling it for 36.50 only!
