The option to choose whether you would read this book again here makes me laugh - I've already read it twice since it was given to me by a friend, and no doubt I'll read it again one day!
This book is absolutely incredible, I loved it from the moment I picked it up. It is easy to get into and fast paced with a subtle blend of gritty survival and surealistic violence. There were many times throught the book when adrenalin flooded my system, and reading it definately gave me a buzz. The style of the introduction and ending fit very well with the main bulk of the book, which comprises of a running plot line, interspersed with the main characters flashbacks.
My favourite parts are the chapters concerning The Gap, a formidifying and terrible place the main character is once trapped in.Without giving too much away, it's a story about a man working in a 'farm' of human clones. The clones are of wealthy people who keep a copy of themselves spare incase they ae involved in an accident and need a replacement body part that wont be rejected. The spares are kept in appaling conditions with absolutely no stimulation. The main character Jack Randall, with the help of a defective droid embark on a program to educate and enlighten them, but they are forced to escape the farm and are dragged into a violent revenge attack from Jack's sureal past.
Upon finishing this book, one of my ambitions in life became meeting Michael Marshal Smith and congratulating him on penning such a fantastic work!
