This is the second book written by the author Michael Marshall Smith. It is a genuinely dark and imaginative novel. Once you begin reading it you won't be able to stop, and once you've read it you'll want to read it again and again.
A fascinating plot concerning human clones, and a future in which the wealthy can take out the ultimate insurance policy by having a human clone produced. The characters - clones included all are realistic and well-developed personalities, the hero is so real and flawed and heart-breakingly heroic that it is impossible not to love him, despite his mistakes.
I found the book highly funny, entertaining, heart-breakingly sad and horrific. I thoroughly recommend this book as a fantastic and sad, surreal and even perhaps a look into the future of genetic engineering.
