Slipping standards or higher expectations?
Review of Eden Hall Day spa (Nottinghamshire) by mum2boys82

Advantages: Great relaxing day
Disadvantages: Staff awareness, food

I visited Eden Hall for the second time this week. I last visited about 2 years ago and I had quite a different experience this time around. For those of you who don't know about Eden Hall it is classified as a day spa (open at 8.30am close at 6pm) and is based in Newark near Nottingham. Prices --------- I will start with prices as I think this will later explain my overall rating of Eden Hall. You can have a basic day for just £69, or if you ...
...-------- When you arrive at Eden Hall you drive through metal gates into a fair size car park. To leave the car park you follow the signs to another set of gates that you need a code to open. When you enter reception there are reception desks on either side of you, use which ever one has the smallest queue, or no queue at all! They take your medical questionnaire and vouchers/payment card and give you a card with your locker number on and explain ... Read review

The Sanctuary
Review of The Sanctuary by Spottydog11

Advantages: Works well!
Disadvantages: NONE

I had never used the Sanctuary range of products before but I recently received a big Sanctuary gift bag for my birthday with lots of different things in so decided to give it a try. The product I am reviewing is from their footcare range and is the skin softening soufflé. The Sanctuary began as a Spa in Covent Garden over 30 years ago. Their philosophy is all about providing the time, space and expertise for women to renew that glow. I've never ...
...very upmarket product. The Sanctuary beauty products were produced in 1998. Customers had been wanting to take the spa experience home with them without needing a therapist or special equipment so they came up with the idea of selling their products. Apparently they are only sold exclusively at Boots and of course you can buy them in the spa's themselves. The gift pack that I got for my birthday was £20 but you can buy the products individually. ... Read review

Not so special
Review of Champneys Health Spa by chrissyg

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Conveyer belt mentality

...not supplied although you can bring them or buy them! How penny-pinching is that? Champneys has lost its way and has lost the individual approach that is so important in the 'spa experience. I would not recommend it.There are plenty of other alternatives that make you feel pampered and special. ... Read review

AVOID IT! Overpriced and amateur
Review of The Sanctuary by jbonati

Advantages: location
Disadvantages: everything else (food, price, service, treatments, hygeine)

...I was completely unimpressed with the standard of the treatments. I would not recommend going here if you have ever had a) a really good massage in the past, b) have a gym membership as this felt like a stripped down version of my gym.. which costs less per month than one entry to the sanctuary d) have ever been in a business class lounge in an airport (if you hold it up to BA's lounge in terminal 5 for example, the Sanctuary falls about a mile ... Disadvantages: can get busy in certain areas of the complex

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nirvana Spa ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nirvana Spa is a spa located in the county of Berkshire close to the M4 and offers both day spa for day visits and healthclub memberships. I have been a member of Nirvana Spa for about 10 years now so I wanted to give you a review on the facilities from a member perspective. Nirvana Spa is known simply as Nirvana to the members :o) Little known fact: The pool scene in the Robbie Williams and Kylie ...
...at Nirvana Spa! Nirvana opened it's doors about 30 years ago with about 50% of today's facilities. It was extended to it's current size in late 2000. It is described as the UK's purest spa, given it has it's own spring to feed the pools. Nirvana Spa & Leisure Ltd is entirely a privately operated company and it's current MD is Tim Harding.
