My husband needed varifocals for the first time. When he went to collect them the assistant put them on him and said 'can you see alright?' As he could see fairly well he said OK and went home. During the day as he was trying out diferent distances he realised they were not right and arranged to return to the shop (which is 25 miles away!) the next day. The assistant said they had not been adjusted to fit him and supposedly corrected them and sent him off again saying varifocals take time to get used to!
Several months later he was still having problems so went to a local independent optician who measured the lenses and said they were 2-3mm off centre. They were also of an old type.
Needless to say neither he nor I have been back to Specsavers since. In fact, our local optician is no more expensive and supplies up to the minute lenses.
