The Story -------------
Spiderman: Friend of Foe starts with a cut scene showing spiderman being beaten by all the villians from the movies. (Doc Octopus, Green Goblin, Sandman and Venom) When they are all attacked by a common enemy, later we learn, called "Phantoms". Phantoms are the minions of Mysterio, a slightly psychotic super villian. The phantoms are being controlled, and came to earth in a meteor. It is spidermans job to find all the shards of the meteor and wipe out the phantoms and get to Mysterio!
As spiderman travels from area to area, he meets friends (you and see where this is going!) and foes, some who join in the fight and some who reluctantly agree to help after being beaten by spidey!
The game consists of 6 areas, based on different countries around the globe (Tokyo, Egypt, Nepal) Each area has average 4 levels. The point of the levels are to get to the end, usually running through towns or cities, fighting any phantoms along the way, collecting items and reaching your goal.
The levels do get gradually harder as they go on, but only because the phantoms take a lot more to put down. There are no puzzle type parts to stop you being able to advance the game, and all levels are replayable from the menu once completed, for those missed items etc.
All of the Characters are playable as long as one is spiderman.
The controls are pretty basic, With the analog stick for movement, the A button for jump, and all other buttons perform different attacks which depending on the character will obviously change. Unlike a lot of other games aimed at a slightly younger audience, this one does have a "fixed position camera" which I hate in games, but this one I found responsive and did not take anything away from the game play.
I found this game rather addictive and happily played through to the end. It only took about a week, playing it for a while each evening with my other half. We both enjoyed it, and although it was easy to complete and relativly short, It was very playable.
This is one of the 2 games I have the full 1000 points for. All are gained from completeing levels, unlocking characters, and finding all hidden secrets (which really aren't that secret!!!) Easy easy easy!
I actually really enjoyed this game and is my kind of easy fun. You do not have to dedicate your life to it, or play for a million hours, You can find it cheap in most shops and it trades in for a good price still (or there is always the renting option)
It will keep ypu amused for a few weeks and I would happily suggest it to anyone who thinks it sounds like their thing!
