Advantages: Well located, Gym & Spa Disadvantages: Small Bar, Lack of Sound Proofing
like. The Library bar is the main bar, and although it has quite a comprehensive range of drinks the bar is rather small with only about 8 tables, which can make it hard to get a seat at busy times.
As for food, I can only comment on breakfast, which was included with our booking. There was a very good range of both cooked and continental self serve buffet, plus fresh fruit juices whilst toast and tea / coffee are brought to the table. The quality and quantity of the available items were also good.
One of the things that attracted us to the Oxford Spires was its pool, gym and spa and I have to say they were great. You get given towels at reception to save using the ones that are put in the room. The pool is a nice size 15m x 7m and is the same depth (1.2 meters) throughout, and is a nice temperate. In the corner of the main pool is ...
Advantages: Difficult, engrossing, original, unique presentation Disadvantages: Maybe a bit too challenging... will put off casual gamers.
I have a slight penchant for games that challenge me.
Not that I enjoy losing - I mean, I've thrown a fair few childish hissy fits in my time when I've been convinced the computer is cheating, but I do love the delightful feeling of finally mastering something that has been, up to the conquest, a solid brick wall.
This penchant meant that when I read about The Dark Spire on the DS and discovered that it's supposedly hair-rippingly tough, I felt a few quivers of excitement.
The Dark Spire is an incredibly old school RPG that sees you controlling a guild, specifically a party of four members of the guild, and sending your little team into a tower with the sole intention of destroying a sorceror. While this story isn't exactly revolutionary it serves its purpose, particularly since you'll probably forget about the sorceror around ...
Advantages: A good and tasty Mild Ale from a great brewery. Disadvantages: May not find it everywhere.
some great beers and have gained fans all over the UK.
Spire use only natural ingredients - only malt, hops, yeast & water and no artificial additives. They are also as environmentally friendly as they can be - they are as energy efficient as possible and mainly supply beers to local outlets to cut down on transport (known as low beer miles). They produce a range of regular, seasonal and special beers, mostly in cask form, but some can also be purchased in bottles too.
Of their range you may see Sgt. Pepper Stout (a rich dark stout with real pepper at 5.5% ABV), Land of Hop and Glory (a golden hoppy ale at 4.5% ABV) and Nocturne Porter (a smooth coffee flavoured beer at 5.7% ABV).

***A Bit of Background**
To fit in with the musical background of the brewer and his partners, a lot of their beers have a musical ...

Manufacturer's product description
The StarFlow is the next extremely silent cost effective retail cooler from Spire. With its BlueStar inverted and patented fan design reach maximum silence and user friendliness. The fan is an evolved version of the CoolBlue DC fans. Spire engineers have reduced the spokes that hold the fan motor and elevated these to create a greater air intake area and to reduce the resistance of spokes which sometimes can cause a high-pitched sound.
