Advantages: low prices Disadvantages: delivery times, customer service
I have used splashdvd.com over the new year after receiving vouchers and special offers via e-mail. I thought I may as well take them up on these offers such as £10 off when u spend over £40, and the current offer free Donnie Darko DVD with any order over £25 during February.
The website is easy to use. Using the different categories ie CDs, DVDs, Games, you can search for the title you want and most items have a description as to what is included ... ...any of the items.
Bizarrely, splashdvd.com seem to send each item of an order seperately! and there is no option to collate an order and have them sent in one. Which is not a problem as there is no delivery charge, but it just seems strange!
It seems such a shame that a website that offers such good value can't deliver the goods quickly or even just notify me of any problems with my order(s).

I have used Splash a fair few times and the first 3/4 times had no problem. However on an order placed in October, the goods did not arrive as promised. Phoned numerous times (0870 number) muchos money, was left on hold once for 2 1/2 hours. Moaned an awful lot and was reimbursed over £15 for phone calls. Eventually order turned up, by hich time I had bought the dvd's else where. They were very good at handling this situation and said to keep them ... ...last chance beginning of January, my daughter wanted a cd and it was cheapest from them.
Placed order and heard nothing... finally after numerous emails, and 1 phone call( quick reply this time) I cancelled the order. As an apology, they then sent me a dvd and a cd for absolutely nothing. Reimbursed me again for all my money and apologised profusely.
However I will never use them again and I recomend others to do the same. It is worth paying a ...

At a guess I'd say the prices are so good as by the time you receive your item it's in the bargain bin anyway!
I have ... ...each time cross my fingers that the item will be in stock and then all will be forgiven. but no, not a chance.
It took three months to get series 6 of Sex in the City, I know I pre-ordered it before it was released but surely that should mean it would arrive in plenty of good time as they know how many they need! But uh-oh 5 weeks after the release date it still wasn't here. I sent e-mails to them to ask where the DVD was and got standard rubbish ...

The site is full of good deals on the prices of the high street,but at a cost,very poor customer service,as the saying goes "you get want you buy for".
I order 3 dvds for a birthday present 3 weeks inadvance as the avaliabilty was 7-14 days for delivery.I recevied no update so rang up, it took 20 mins (£2) and was fobbed off.Sent email 5 days later no reply, rang up again asked when they had sent them out (£2 again must have a lot of unhappy customers)as ... ...were not ready for dispatch till the thursday which was a day after above mentioned birthday which with delivery was going to be a week after.
So I cancelled(this is another axe to grid,this is one of the few sites which take your money out before dispatch so i have also paid intrest on my card for no goods).This cancelled order has cost me well over £4.
Went some where else recieved dvds in 3 days from ordering but they cost me about £3 more...

I have purchased from Splash DVD a number of times. They often have a cheap if not the cheapest price for a number of their DVD's and the remainder are not above shop prices. Their range is huge.
If you've found a bargin there you shouldn't have any problems getting it. They except all the standard credit/debit cards and the site is appealing and easy to navigate. I myself have purchased DVD's from there on a number of occasions without any hassle, ... ...DVD a month since I purchsed it. When I phoned to enquire I was informed it was out of stock but they neglected to tell me this in an email. They had no complaints about giving me a refund but it makes me wonder how long it would have gone before they told me that my DVD wasnt on its way. A piece of advice if you have any complications with them is to phone rather than email as they are very slow to respond to emails if at all. This said I would ...
