KEANO!!!
Advantages: this is a book about a legends life Disadvantages: some people may not be able to afford it
this is a book wich i would recomend to anyone who like me is a huge fan of roy keane. you find out all intresting facts about him and how he became a legend that he is.
in this book you find that roy keane is a genuine man and he is a people pleaser. you find out about all his pub brawls.
this book cost me £17.99 and i would rate that as a bargain price because of the information you find out about the man,the myth, the legend and how he achieved ... ...favourite book because you see how roy struggled to get him self were he is and how well he did it.
you also see what his disadvantagers he had at a young age and what he did to over come it he sent invatations to all top clubs but all rejected him because he was to.
you get told about his family history and his ansesters were also footballers for there local club.
roy keane finally made the premiership by joining nottingham forrest and they were ...

Unsurpassed
Advantages: Meticulously researched, excellently written, appeals even to non-football fans! Disadvantages: Makes you yearn for 'the good old days'
‘Legendary’ is probably the most appropriate word I can find to describe the Brazilian team that lifted the Jules Rimet trophy for a record-breaking third time. They did it in the sweltering heat of the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City, in the summer of 1970, and they did it in style. I wasn’t even a twinkle in the milkman’s eye (and, yes, before you ask, my Dad was a milkman!) back then, but I don’t know how many times ... ...move out of defence beings the ball to Pele, but instead of shooting, he rolls a sublime pass to his right. The Italian defence is completely wrong-footed, and as Carlos Alberto appears out of nowhere, the ball seems to skip up into his path. Without breaking stride he hammers it past the keeper and into the net. Pure, unadulterated, footballing brilliance, and it has never been surpassed. That move has been seen countless times by millions of people ...

You should climb rocks more. . .
Advantages: Clear diagrams. Chapter 6 and Parts III and IV. Quick reference. Disadvantages: Too brief on important subjects and too longwinded on unnecessary ones.
...into the mountains, onto the rock faces and climbing. That said, there are 'skills and techniques' that must become second nature, and a clear, well structured reference book is always going to be a useful decoration to a climbers bookshelf. Libby Peter organises her book very much with the MI and SPA qualifications in mind, with yellowy sections giving techniques for instructors. . .In truth, they are useful skills for all climbers to know but not ... ...is a teacher, and for some reason the book lacks much humor or fun.
The book is not comprehensive in its 225 pages, and the information Peter has decided to impart is mostly the most useful stuff, although sometimes she gets a bit flowery about the environment, history, bouldering, scrambling and 'looking after each other'. In my view this book, stripped to its essentials, is a book that covers rope-work well but that has been padded out with some ...

English Football - "A game without shame"???
Advantages: Great research backed up with real life examples Disadvantages: slight factual errors
I am not a great reader by any account (I watched the film of Lord of the Flies in a misguided attempt to fool my GCSE English teacher that I had read the text!) but with my interest in football I somehow felt compelled to read this expose of the corruption and lies that underlie our beautiful game.
The scandals of bribery and corruption are well documented abroad at clubs like Marseille but such allegations have remained relatively muted in England ... ...clean here. What Bower does in this enthralling account is demonstrate beyond doubt that we are not. The truth is that a series of high profile managers, chairmen and agents have contrived to bring British football into disrepute.
There are a number of minor flaws in this book, not least that you get the overriding sense that the author does not have an intimate knowledge of the subject matter, but what he succeeds in doing is using fascinating ...

The Religion That Is Football
Advantages: Excellent insight into football in italy Disadvantages: American Writer
...not just for football lovers. The writer Joe McGinniss spends the entire 1996/97 season in the small hamlet of Castel Di Sangro. The author gets so close to the team though that the book is about far more than football. Lies, deception, scandal and tragedy all come to the fore whilst the footballing miracle unfolds.
The characters in the football team are well protrayed by the writer and you become part of the Castel Di Sangro fight for survival
... ...attitues towards football.
Because the book is written by an american it turns out that the book is very American, for the English game. This smacks of someone who doesn't really understand football.
Overall, a fascinating tale of an almost surreal season for Castel Di Sangro. Joe McGinniss is welcomed so much into the heart of the community and club, that we find out a great deal about the activities of a small Italian football club, in this intelligently ...
