I was shopping over the weekend with my boyfriend, and never a pair to spend money, we headed into our favourite sportswear clothier, Sport Soccer. Its own brand, Donnay is of regular quality, includes, socks, underwear, jumpers, track bottoms, trainers and various sports equipment for below the average price.
A training jumper cost only £8 while a department store brand top would cost me almost triple the price. Donnay offers a wide range of colours, sizes, styles and price. Their trainers are a good price for children's sizes, but you may want to be weary of the adult ones as the quality is a bit questionable. Of course, if you're looking for something to paint your house in, £16 for some trainers isn't bad at all!
If it is a name brand item you are looking for, Sport Soccer carries them as well. Nike, Umbro, Adidas, Rebok and Fila are among some of the more popular names and the apparel is all generally on for half the price that Nike World, Debenham's or JD Sports would offer. The selection on name brand items is not necessarily the best, but I would certainly check to make sure Sport Soccer does not have the item before heading into JJB's, JD, Intersport or any of the other sportswear shops. My boyfriend bought a Nike training jacket for £25 and the JJB sport across the road carried the exact style and colour for £40.
The clothing items sold are not seconds, damaged items or irregular sizes they are simply past season stock or simply overstock from the main high street branches sold at discount prices. I have never questioned the quality of sportswear purchased from them, and although the street cred of carrying a Sport Soccer bag is not as high as any other sportswear shop, you'll be the one laughing when you pay up to half the price for the same item of clothing someone is carrying in a 'cool' bag.
Advantages: cheap, brand named sportswear Disadvantages: usually very busy & crowded
Sport & Soccer is a great shop if you want to buy branded sportswear at a reasonable price.
They sell a huge variety of tops, jumpers, tracksuit bottoms, trainers, footballs, bags, golf equipment, roller blades, hats, ski boots, and pretty much any other kind of sportswear in between.
All of their goods are BRAND NEW and the latest (as in current style/current football strips/England shirts/trainers). They seem to buy in bulk, so they can offer ... ...less than in other sports shops such as JJB.
Quite a large part of their stock consists of Donnay, or Umbro. And it is these makes that you can pick up really cheaply. T-Shirts for under £10 for men and women, and this range is especially good for young kids, as they are less style-conscious! I recently picked up a Umbro T-shirt for my toddler for £1 and some matching shorts for the same price. The quality is really good - they haven't fallen apart ...

Advantages: It Was Close To Home Disadvantages: It is being closed down:(
The Sport Soccer that was near me in Coventry up by the central six retail park is closing down, I don't know if they are all closing or just the one by me.
I love that shop its amazingly cheap, sometimes it has its bad days and is really expensive but 90% of the time its great.
I went in there once and was looking for a pair of trainers that I had seen just down the road in JJB for £89.99 and they were £69.99 in sport soccer, I couldn't believe ... ...First Sport and they had a pair of tracksuit trousers for £14.99 and Sport Soccer had them for £29.99, that put me off for a while.
As you can tell I like to look for a bargain! The best bargains I have ever received are defiantly from Sport Soccer, just recently because of them closing they have been having a massive sale, starting with all 25% off a week later all 50% off the next week I went back with the lads and 75% OFF the original RRP.
I ...

Advantages: Cheap Prices, Top Branded Footwear Disadvantages: Poor Customer Service, Cheap and Tacky Clothing Range, Lonsdale
specific examples where in my opinion they have failed to provide an appropriate level of customer service.
Poor Service Take 1
As I said earlier in this review my son plays in goal for a junior football team, and for Christmas his uncle bought him a new pair of Nike goalkeeper gloves. If you are disorganised you tend to do all your Christmas shopping quite late, but for once Uncle Adam was switched on and purchased these gloves in November. Now because he was second guessing my sons hand size he had kept the receipt and gave it to me in case we had to return the said item. Fortunately size wasn't an issue (!!) but after only wearing them twice the stitching had come undone on one of the gloves. So two weeks into January I visited the Manchester Arndale branch of SportsSoccer armed with the offending gloves and my receipt ...
Advantages: Cheap, Big selection and ranges Disadvantages: Tests Patience, Staff not helpful
A few months ago I asked in-store whether SportsSoccer had any jobs and they said no we have too much staff on at the moment..........really? are you sure about that?
so why does it take me an hour just to find someone to ask for size 10 football boot? and then they don't come back for half an hour? and then they come back eventually to tell me they don't have them in my size. Even if you get a pair you will have to lace them up youself as the staff just disappear.
I think soccersports is great for price, tracksuit bottoms, joggers and sportswear. However if you buying trainers or football boots then you need a lot of patience. However it is better for choice that it's competitors JJB so you will have to wait unless you feel comfortable buying boots or trainers over the internet not knowing whether they fit or not.

Advantages: affordable sportswear, massive selection Disadvantages: not particularly well labelled
Harlow now proudly boasts a new sports wear shop in the name of SportsSoccer. It is located alongside the UGC cinema in the DIY industrial shopping area at Templefields.
I visited it for the first time yesterday and was very impressed. Although Harlow already has many sports wear shops located in the town centre, SportsSoccer offers a much wider range of clothing and accessories but at mega discounted prices.
Being that this shop occupies an industrial unit it boasts a large shop floor with a first floor to it too.
The layout is not particularly well laid out nor labelled in anyway, but to be honest at those prices I didn't mind that bit as I hunted around everything in my own orderly fashion sniffing out the bits that I liked best.
The cheapest sports brand that they offer is Donnay International, they also offer ...
