Harlow now proudly boasts a new sports wear shop in the name of Sports Soccer. It is located alongside the UGC cinema in the DIY industrial shopping area at Templefields.

I visited it for the first time yesterday and was very impressed. Although Harlow already has many sports wear shops located in the town centre, Sports Soccer offers a much wider range of clothing and accessories but at mega discounted prices.

Being that this shop occupies an industrial unit it boasts a large shop floor with a first floor to it too.

The layout is not particularly well laid out nor labelled in anyway, but to be honest at those prices I didn't mind that bit as I hunted around everything in my own orderly fashion sniffing out the bits that I liked best.

The cheapest sports brand that they offer is Donnay International, they also offer the usual Nike, Puma, Reebok etc. all priced it seems alot lower than you'll find anywhere else.

On the shop floor you will find, trainers, caps, babies, childrens and mens wear along with underwear, caps, bags and even skate boards. The first floor is more or less dedicated to teenage girls and ladies wear and the needy facility for us women of changing rooms. This floor also boasts trainers, caps, underwear and again sports items such as footballs and baseball bats.

After a quick hour :) and trying a few garments on I came away with a pair of Donnay combat trousers, aged 13-14 and a Donnay cropped v-neck top. The cost of this outfit being £11 !! The combat trousers original price tag was £14.99 - shop price £8 and the t-shirt was £4.99 - shop price £3, now that is a real bargain.

If like me you are short in the leg you too may be able to fit into the childrens wear as I often have problems with the ladies range of trousers being that if they don't cater for varied leg lengths I have to either have them taken up, which defeats the object when the item is of bootleg style or pay the earth and travel for miles for a shop who does offer such a range.

I wasn't surprised that I could fit into the combats (the only thing being wary of was my hips! as I'm normally a size 12) as many of the secondary kids these days tower above me. So if you are short and size 12 or under go for the childrens range and you may well save yourself a few quid, although the ladies range is just as good value.

To give you a few ideas of the prices on offer here; childrens trainers start at £8, T-shirts at £2, shorts & jogging bottoms £4, Fleece jackets £6, caps £2.

It's worth a visit as although I'm not a mega sportswear fan being that it's usually quite pricey, at these prices you can afford to treat yourself and your kids and feel great at what you're buying is of genuine quality and a snippet of the normal price.
