I would just like to write a review on my local Sports Soccer store in Plymouth, although I do think now that it is actually in fact called Sports World. So on first impressions, on walking in to the shop what do I think about it? Well, not a lot! If you have read my review on the Officers' Club, well this shop is even worse than that! For reasons that we shall now find out about.
To start off with, I shall begin with the advantages:
First off, this is an excellent shop that sells just about anything that you ould wish to hope for in terms of sport. From children's trainers up to adults top of the range mountain bikes that do everything but make you a cup of tea (OK a bit of an exageration but you know what I mean), you will find everything that you could so wish for.
Secondly is the price, as everything comes at that lower price - this is one of those shops that shows you what the original price was, then what the price is now.
But now on to the disadvantages:
This shop is lterally bursting at the seams with goods, so much so that they have even resorted to selling goods outside on the pavement. In my own opinion this surely cannot be any good, as the tills are right at the back of the shop amidst loads more items so how can they check to see if people are paying for it?
If you suffer with claustrophobia, then this is a shop that is sadly not for you as of the amount of stuff they sell. The aisles never leave enough room for one person to pass through without actually knocking anything over never mind two people being able to pass through comfortably!
Should you wish to ever ask a member of staff for someting (such as for a pair of shoes that are in your size) then make sure that you physically stay in exactlly the same plae as to where you were when you asked them - otherwise, even through being a centimetre out will confuse them. In the same way that should you ask them for something to buy in this manner, they will take it immediately to the tills - so make sure that you get a full on description of what it is that you are intent on buying including the price, otherwise you may go through the whole experience again.
To conclude:
In all, in my own opinion I would just like to say that I think that this shop is one that is trying to be a bit of a crossover between an MFi style shop and a high street store or thereabouts - they put out what they can, but should you ask for different then woe betide you! In other words, only go in here if you are absolutely desparate.
