I'm 40 and live in Ashford, Middlesex with my husband. We have part time custody of his two children. I work in South Wimbledon and enjoy gardening, coarse fishing, clay pigeon shooting, horse riding, reading, travelling and socialising.

After a particularly stressfull 2001 and desperately needed a break, but couldn't afford the time for a fortnight's holiday in the sun. Whilst scanning the internet I came across the Springs Health Hydro site and was instantly hooked by the facilities and treatments available.
Two days later I found myself lost in Ashby-de-la Zouch trying to find them! After quizing a few locals I eventually arrived. Barely visible from the road, it looks a small and unasuming place, but once you enter the doors you are truly in pamper paradise!
The accomodation is what you would expect from a good hotel, the choice of food (not just restricted to ultra low calorie) is fantastic and the range of treatments extensive.
On my first night I had a seaweed floatation session. OK, so you have to don a rather unattractive pair of paper knickers and be slathered in green goo, but ten minutes later, as you are lowered into the embracing warmth of the dry floatation tank, you will find heaven. The lights are dimmed, calming music played and aromatic essential oils burned as you relax for an hour. I exited this treatment with soft skin, feeling like I had spent a week there.
The atmosphere is so relaxing throughout the facility, with most people wandering around in their dressing gowns or snuggling up on huge comfy sofas reading. The pool is a good size for those of you who enjoy swimming decent distances and the sun-lounger area around the pool gives fantastic views over the grounds.
The Thalasotherapy pool is definately one to have a go in. The treatment detoxes the body and stimulates circulation. Be prepared to need to drink plenty of water afterwards!
The therapy rooms are private and cosy, the therapists friendly and welcoming and even the gym looks enviting. Best of all for those of us of average build and looks it isn't full of skinny models!!!

Minibreak (1 night) start at £169.95 and include one full body massage and one facial plus access to all facilities.
Lond weekend (2 nights) start at £239.95 and include full body massage, facial and Thalassotherapy session plus access to all facilities.
There are often special offers on the go, one of the most popular being the mother and daughter packages where the daughter goes half price if you both stay for at least 3 nights.

I really wish these places would do different packages, I've noticed a lot of them do mother and daughter ones, but not much good to Fishbulb as her Mum has passed away :o(
