Advantages Advantages Good price, excellent guitar

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Machine Heads

I purchased my Squier Strat guitar as a package including a Squier 10 watt practice amp, a video and a set of strings for £200 two years ago. Although I am now an experienced guitarists, I have not found the need to purchase another guitar. The neck is thin (like the original stratocastor) which allows the players to “clamp down” and play crisp clear barre chords. The bridge can be adjusted to raise and lengthen the strings ad the guitar features a five position selector switch to vary the sound output. The frets are narrow compared to Gibson guitars which will work as an advantage ... more

    Advantages Advantages Nice and cheap

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Sounds awful

Squier produce guitars for Fender while also producing their own versions of quitars. In fact, they make 2 types of guitar. Yuo either have a budget Squier for about 120 quid of a Fender, by Squier for about an extra 50 quid. To be honest, there is not a lot of difference between the 2 and if you want to spend a bit more, you can get much better guitars. Would you like me to explain? Sound. ------ Well, Electric guitars are electric guitars right? Er, Wrong. They all sound different. A Cheap squier sounds like someone strangling an out of tune cat. Fret buzz is a problem to a dodgy neck that ... more

Advantages Advantages Strong build, Good setup, WHAMMY BAR

Disadvantages Disadvantages Ridiculed by better players (unreasonably)

If you are wanting a cheap, reliable, sturdy, well performing, easy to play guitar, then this is your best bet. The Squier Strat has too many plus points for the money. The electronics are good, i have only had to perform minor repairs in the 3 years i have owned it. There are no scratches - the finish is solid. It is easy to adjust with a small screwdriver. The strings are easy to replace. The fretboard is completely undamaged. This isone well built machine. The thin neck means chords are easy to change and you can cheat making bar chords (unlike many gibsons and epiphones). It may not be the ... more

    Advantages Advantages Solid, variable sound

Disadvantages Disadvantages Some pretty weak metals

If you are learning guitar, this is the first guitar you have to buy. This guitar has it all: a sound you can really vary, a solid body and a good price. Just about everyone who is beginning guitar will want one of these. With the classic Stratocaster design and the Fender pickups, this guitar is everything you need. You can play literally any style of music on this. Now let's analyse it: PRICE ******** Hands down, this is a great price. I got mine for £120 with an amp, a lead, a strap and a video. This is one of the cheapest guitars on the market, which is pretty much the only reason why ... more

Advantages Advantages Durable, comfortable and a rich sound, suits rhythm to a T

Disadvantages Disadvantages The machine heads could be more accurate and less erratic.

I bought my Squire Strat second hand nearly four years ago and it still surprises me to this day. It was £75 part exchange and is cream all over. Since then i've bought three other guitars, but everytime I play it it feels like a more expensive one. The fretboard is niecly wide and spaced for a start, with the action on the strings easy and low. With a five position pickup selector, the tones are nicely different, resulting in a sharp lead tone by the bridge, to a jazz bass-intensive neck tone. The middle selection provides a rich rhythm sound and the spacing of the fretboarsd make barre ... more
