No one looks great after a night out with only one hour sleep, well, i hope not anyway. And we all know that an overindulgence in alcohol is not good for your skin. They also do a slightly different version of this called Blemish Control Apricot Scrub. I dunno what the difference is as I havent tried the other one.
The Scrub is packaged in an orange-peachy coloured bottle with a blue flip-top lid. It's a fairly large bottle, bigger than most facial scrub bottles in my opinion, holding 150mls of the facial scrub, so it lasts quite a while, so far it has lasted me about three months and I can probably squeeze a couple more weeks-worth out of it.
The Apricot scrub is made with 100% natural exfoliants and it says on the packaging that “it cleans deep into pores and gently removes dull, dead skin cells to instantly reveal noticeably smooth, radiant, healthier looking skin. In just one use you can see and feel the difference”. Sounds good.
It also says on the back that it is...
• Dermatologist Tested (that word sounds clever) • Non-drying (oh goodie) • Won’t clog pores (ahhhh, it lets your skin breathe) • Vitamin-rich Apricot extract (exciting stuff) • Swiss glacial water (Swiss... how exotic) • Nourishing Swiss botanicals (...just a brainy word for 'plant' perhaps?)
Its pretty simple to use really, not exactly rocket science... wet your face, apply with your fingertips and massage gently.
The scrub is an orange colour with tiny little scrubby bits in it which scrub away all the dead skin cells. It is quite a thick pasty scrub, which is good as some cheaper ones are thinner in consistency and just dont feel as good quality, more watered down.
Anyway, once you have applied it to your skin, you really notice those little scrubby bits, as there are LOOOOOOOAAAADS of them and that makes it way more effective, you can really feel it working. If you scrub too hard it can be a little bit harsh as there are so many little bits, so you only need to gently massage it on.
Having massaged my face gently with it, I washed it off with some warm water and dried it off with a towel and patted it dry. You can really notice the difference, my skin felt a lot smoother and by using it regularly it makes so much difference and makes your skin seem a lot less dull. My skin felt a lot fresher and healthier too, probably has something to do with those little scrubby bits taking away all those dead skin cells. I definitely think that this product is worth the money, and would reccommend it to anyone who is looking for a really good quality exfoliator. Although, it may be a little too harsh if you have sensitive skin. My sister has and she tried it and didnt seem to think that it aggreed with her skin.
It costs 3.99 usually from Superdrug, but recently bought a bottle for 1.99 as it was on special offer. It is also available from Boots and some supermarkets I think, but i always find that superdrug is the best value for money and somethimes has it on offer.
Advantages: Leaves skin smooth, soft, invigorated, revived Disadvantages: May seem a lil rough when first used
...pores. You can use the St Ives Apricot Scrub regularly, for gentle exfoliation & this helps clear out the pores. * If you would like to control oily skin, then it is recommened you exfoliate weekly. This will help lift away dead skin cells and oil which accumulates in pores. Which scrub should you use?
There are hundreds of products out there and its really annoying when it comes to finding the 'right' one. I have tried many products but I keep ... ...smooth and refreshed.

Advantages: Fresh, Radiant Skin Disadvantages: Not For Sensitive Skin
...when I came across this St Ives invigorating Apricot Scrub.
I’d used St Ives products before such as body lotions and cleansing wipes and had no problem so decided to buy this face scrub. St Ives is known for its Swiss Formula. This Scrub comes in an orangey apricot bottle with a blue lid, which is easily flipped open! The tube contains 150mls; I’m still on my first tube after a month and will expect it to last for a least another. The Apricot scrub ... ...product.
I bought my St Ives Invigorating Apricot Scrub from superdrug when the range was on offer I paid £1.99 for it but I think usual price is around £3.99. Although if you get your selves down to superdrug before the 23rd of March they have 40% of this product which isn’t bad!! I know the St Ives range is also available from boots.
Similar Products from the St Ives range are

*Medicated Scrub

Advantages: It works extremely well Disadvantages: Probably works too well if you have sensitive skin
I think that I should make something clear before I start - this is a review of a facial scrub that is being written by a bloke. So, yes girls we do use them secretly. Good! that's that out of the way then.
I am in the fortunate position of being married with two (as good as) grown up daughters. As a result, the shelf in the shower compartment is constantly adorned with an ever changing supply of exotic sounding shampoos, conditioners and other ... ...my boring block of unscented plain white soap that sits alone in it's small plastic receptacle and venture into the forest of multi-coloured elegantly packaged delights that stand just to the left. One day, whilst rummaging through the forest I came across the St. Ives scrub.
"Hmmm!" I thought " will this be any good?" After a particularly grotty, grimy or otherwise unsatisfactory day at work I like to give the old boat race a really good scrub ...

Advantages: Feels amazingly clean, sandy type solution you can feel working, invigorating smell Disadvantages: A little harsh for sensative skin, small container, not too easy to wash off
When i first used this face scrub i was amazed, it was the first time i'd used one and i couldn't belive the fresh feeling it left me with. The fresh new skin feeling and the invograting smell made me feel amazing and i new that i had discovered something fantastic!
I've tried a few scince then and no other compares to this one as the very sandy texture really does "scrub" your face, thats why i don't think you should try this for sensative skin. ... ...really try this out as i don't think you can find a better face wash than this to give you that feeling.
Now some people say that this is a good sized container but i have always found it to be small. It only lasts me just over a couple of weeks and i hate thinking about being careful how much i use but then it is relativly cheap and can be found on offer all over the place so this makes it a really good deal.
One of the problems i find with this ...

Advantages: Scrubs the dead skin away easily. Disadvantages: Leaves all the apricot bits in the sink!
...that flaky skin. After seeing St Ives facial scrubs advertised on TV, I decided I had nothing to lose by trying it.
Within a week I saw the difference. The scrub is brown (that must be the apricots) and bitty (as you would expect with an exfoliating product). You wet your face and neck and massage the product into the skin. It is then rinsed off, ready for moisturiser. This product really does smooth your skin and it improved my dull complexion ... ...product.
The scrub comes in an apricot-coloured tube, with a helpful picture of an apricot on the front (in case you were in any doubt that this product is made with apricots). The tube has a convenient flip lid which it rests on when closed. There is 150ml in the tube and I find that this lasts about 2-3 months with one application per day. I bought my last tube of scrub from a local chemist for £2.99, which seems to be about the average price ...

Advantages: Powerful Scrub, Inexpensive Disadvantages: Can be a bit harsh on fragile skin
I have been using this scrub on and off for more the 4 years. I have tried many of the StIves brand of products, but this is one i always come back to.
The scrub comes in an apricot-coloured plastic tube with a transparent blue flip-top. the flip is securely teathered, and easy to open. The product flows easily from the tube with a gentle squeeze. The tube holds 150ml of product.
The scrub itself is crushed walnut shell in a pale coloured-creamy base. It has a mild, pleasent scent. The shell is very abrasive. I find a small amount is all thats necessisary for a facial scrub and I only use it once or twice a week. I use a very gentle rubbing motion with the tips of my fingers, concentrating on my nose and cheeks where my pores are. I always follow with a mild light moisturiser. The creamy-base does not cleanse or foam, so I use ...
Advantages: makes skin llok radinat and sammoth and healthy Disadvantages: the tiny grains can hurt sensitive skin if oyu scrub too hard
this swiss formula from stives is an invorating apricot srub. it gently exfoliates dull surface cells to instantly reveal radiant smooth healthy skin. cosmo girl rates it kiss of approval beauty awards 2005. it is perfect for all types of skin it left my skin feeling really soft as the grains in the product gently scrubbed my face to remove the layers of dead cells to the new cells. it leaves your skin glowing and radiant in just 7 dasy and it contains more than 90% naturally derived ingrediants including swiss glacial wter and swiss botanicals. it is really deep cleansing that exfoliates dull dead skin cells to reveal beautiful looking skin. i would recommend this to anyone that wants to have smooth radiant skin with no spots at all and it gets rid of them too!!! ...
Advantages: Good value for money. Leaves you feeling fresh-faced. Disadvantages: Could be harsh on sensitive skin.
I have been using StIvesApricotScrub now for about 2 months, twice a week (you should only use an exfoliater approximately twice a week or it can make your pores open and your skin will become greasy).
In my opinion, it is by far the most effective exfoliant i have used, leaving my skin feeling fresh and clean. As well as that, the product smells lovely, which is rare, and due to only needing a small amount for each use, lasts for ages!!
The all natural ingredients and branding really sold this product to me, and I will definetly be using this in years to come!
From my point of veiw, it would be beneficial for StIves to bring out a range of different flavours, such as maybe Vanilla, or Raspberry. ...
