I'm quite a big user of instant fake tan, I have used so many brands you wouldn't believe it! I am part of an online community on a website with lots of members, and I always found myself coming across threads named 'ST MORIZ, BEST TAN EVER!' 'ST MORIZ, BARGAIN!' and as you can guess, everytime a thread appeared with this it tempted me more and more to try it out.
When I looked up more information on it, I found out that St Moriz is actually a tan which when put onto your skin is instant, it was cheaper than my usual one so well worth a shot. I then found out that whilst being instant, the tan is also gradual! I thought this was great and just what I need, I need a fake tan which doesn't come off in the rain or when I do the wash up or simply just wash my hands!
St Moriz fake tan comes in 3 types if my mind is correct! Spray, lotion and mousse, the prices being pretty much the same for each.
The one which I picked up was the mousse, I bought this from Home & Bargains for £2.99. I am sure this is only available in certain shops ( usually the discouted types ) but is widely available online if you can not find it anywhere near you, and the price is always around the £3.00 mark.
St Moriz comes in a white tall cylindrical plastic bottle which is quite different to other fake tans, because if I go into superdrug and have a look at the fake tan section most of the bottles are usually a bronzed/brown colour, this one is white like St Tropez so stands out.
Over the bottle is the St Moriz logo and lots more useful information about the product mostly wrote in black and gold/brown.
The fake tan also comes with a pump dispenser and a plastic clear top.
Overall, a very simple looking fake tan bottle.
Well if you know about St Moriz you will know that its compared to St Tropez very often, its meant to be just as good and saves you a lot of money, St Tropez comes in at a whopping £30.00!
I was excited to try this tan, I'm quite pale underneath all my usual fake tan and make up and love to look tanned as I think it makes me look a lot better than my scary usual self!
On the back of the St Moriz fake tan bottle there is instructions on how to use the product, it tells me:
Exfoliate the skin. Moisturise the dry areas of the skin (ie. kneees, elbows, hands, ankles and hairline.)
Apply the mousse by rubbing gently and evenly onto the skin, allowing the mousse to absorb. Wash hands after use of wear gloves.
Okay, easy enough I had done everything it had asked me and grabbed my fake tan mitt ( invest in one of these if your a regular fake tan user! it gives a lovely streak free result and makes it very easy too apply! )
I pumped out the fake tan onto my mitt, its a light/medium brown in colour and looks a little bit glittery, it feels and looks very light, not heavy or greasy and has a light soapy fresh smell about it.
I liked this GRADUAL fake tan because it was also instant, which means its coloured and you know where you are applying it too and you know if you have missed any bits, as you probably know with your average gradual tan its usually clear so you dont know if you have missed any.
For one of my leg I will use about 3 pumps, usually though I will only put on one pump at a time as it quite fast drying so you have to work quick, best to work on one place at once instead of your whole leg.
After the fake tan has been put on, it gives quite a light natural tanned instant tan look, I wouldn't say it looks awful but it just isn't really that dark, the first time I used this I thought it was a little light but did not want to risk putting on more because it says on the bottle it can take up to 6 hours to develop properly.
6 hours later, the tan was a little bit darker, it wasn't extremely dark though as I had hoped! but still I was more tanned than I was in the first place before any of the tan! I think this is why so many people love this fake tan, especially if your extremely pale, it gives a lovely sun touched look which isn't extreme, very natural ( I just like it darker! )
I had no streaks with this ( probably from using a mitt and also being able to see where it was applied! ) I also could dress straight away because its so fast drying! It also doesn't have that fake tan smell which you will probably love, the result is very matte and natural.
For darker results, it says too apply in the next 3 days but this doesn't really make a difference for me, I find layering it on makes it appear darker.
I found out a few days later I had picked up the normal version and not the dark one! I think this would give amazing results since from this normal version I have gotten such a lovely gradual natural tan! The dark version would be the same except more dark, yay!
