Advantages Great results, Cheap. Less mess than other self tanners and spray tans.

Disadvantages Needs washed of or can appear streaky when it is not underneath.

I have tried most of the fake tans that are easily availible but recently, being low on funds I took the plunge and spent £2.99 for 200ml (In Semi-Chem) on a fake tan recommended by a friend, I assumed like some other D.I.Y fake tans this would fail match the results I achieve from my regular spray tans... I have found if you apply it in a certain way and get nice and exfoliated before the results can be just as good!

How to spot it!

This fake tan comes in a white pump dispenser bottle with a clear plastic lid. Most of the writing on the bottle is black and is in a similar font to the St Tropez bottles, this gives it an expensive look as it fits in nicely with the more pricy bottles.

How to apply it?

This product is a mousse, I have found the best way to apply this is to use a fake tanning mit (you can get these for £1.99 in Semichem or £1 in Primark) this stops your hands getting orange and because the mousse contains bronzer you can see where you are applying it, this means you don't put too much product on, making you orange, or to little and turning out streaky in areas you have missed! The mousse is very easy to apply and soaks into the skin without having to be rubbed really hard. As soon as it is applied you have a slight tan all over, it states on the bottle it will take 4-6 hours to develop fully but it's definitely near the 6hours scale and often nearer 8 hours! I'd advise leaving plenty of developing time, I do usually take longer for the fake tan to develop but I think this is result of Ehlers Danlos syndrome which affects the collagen in my skin so everyone else might not take so long. You can get a darker tan if you reapply the mousse, the sooner you do so the darker the results. i find the colour on the first attempt fine but I have friends who reapply to get darker results and there tan looks just as good. The results...

The tan when fully developed gives a nice even colour which is natural and attractive. It does not leave you with dry skin and looks just as nice a colour as my spray tans! You can see where you are applying the mousse so it does not turn streaky and does not leave you with dark elbows or knees if you exfoliate before use (wearing vaseline on your knees and backs of your ankles the nights before you put the fake tan on totally eliminates this). I definitely advise washing after applying the fake tan, I know a lot of people I know don't do this but I find that particularly on my face seems to look a little bit dirty for some reason! As soon as it is washed of though it is clear that this is just due to the bronzer as the underneath result is flawless!

Is it messy?

Nope! Altough the bronzer sometimes rubs of on light clothes if it is not dry, this washes of easily and is not a problem unless it is the clothes you plan to wear going out, in which case leave enough time for the fake tan to dry properly (around 20 mins). So long as the fake tan is dry before bed it doesn't rub of on the sheets, this is even better than my spray tans and saves a lot of bother as every other fake tan I have had has somehow ended up covering my sheets! Sometimes if you do not wipe the bottle after use it can get a bit messy and the mousse stains the surface it is on, but so long as it is wiped there is no problem.

I am following in my friends footsteps and recommending this wonderful mousse to everyone!
