Advantages gives an even deep tan & lasts a long time

Disadvantages expensive

As a girl who uses fake tan a lot, I have used many brands and St. Tropez is by far one of the best!
I was given a gift set for Christmas (unsure where it is from) and it came with the 'every day gradual tan body lotion', exfoliator and moisturiser. This is the first time I have used the every day gradual tan as I usually prefer to buy the whipped bronzing mousse.. but why not give it a try!
St. Tropez sell many tanning products, all in different shades and different ways to apply it to your skin. Ranging from a light tan, to a deep sun-kissed glow. The most popular is probably the every day gradual tan body lotion.

THE PRODUCT:
The St. Tropez moisturiser is a light moisturiser that easily absorbs into your skin. It combines the factors in vitamin E, aloe vera and fake tan elements. The tan gradually builds up on your skin the more you use it. 3 times in a week (using the light-medium tan) will give you a lightly tanned look, the same time using medium/dark will give you a dark sun-kissed look - the more you use the darker you get!
Obviously the tan differs for each person as it reacts with your melanin to create a gorgeous glow.
I personally have quite good melanin in my skin meaning I tan very well, very quickly.

THE SCENT:
Many people worry about using fake tan due to the often horrible smell it leaves on your skin. St. Tropez use an 'aromaguard fragrance technology', this helps to remove the usual smell that fake tan gives (helping people to realise it isn't real) and replace it with a nice un-obvious smell.

HOW TO APPLY:
Fake tan is a very tricky thing to apply correctly as it can often look streaky and appear very dark on your elbows and knees. To get the tan to be even, you need to exfoliate before using the product to remove all dead skin cells, and shave 24 hours in advance to avoid the tan sticking to the hair follicles and leaving dots all over your legs.
To get an even coverage, massage the lotion into your skin, as evenly as you possibly can and allow time for it to absorb into your skin. Do not get dressed straight away as this may result in a patchy tan and may stain your clothes. For the best results apply half an hour before you go to bed and wash off in the morning - as this will allow the tan time to process.
I would recommend applying the tan 2 or 3 times a week to keep it glowing for longer, although you need to exfoliate regularly to keep dead skin cells at bay and keep it streak free.

THE PACKAGING:
All St. Tropez products come in their signature white tube or bottle with the black writing down the side. This makes it look modern and it stands out on the shelf as it is not colourful and bright like most products - I think this makes it more eye catching as it is different.

THE PRICE:
As St. Tropez is one of the top fake tanning brands, it is quite expensive - although it does last a long time! The body lotion costs £15 from Boots and Superdrug (or any tanning salon should sell it). Amazon and E-bay probably sell it for a lot cheaper but be warned of dodgy sellers.

As I said at the start of my review, I personally adore St. Tropez tanning range - I own quite a few of the products and the gradual tanning lotion is definitely the best by far. I have been using it for a while now and the tan never appears patchy or streaky even when it is fading.
