and a French Fry (chip) blade. These blades fit into a frame (one at a time, of course) which in turn fits in the top of the box - and you're ready to go! I have found no problems at all with this slicer/grater and it is certainly much quicker and easier than doing it all by hand - and, thinking about it , much more hygienic with no grated knuckles included! Making salads - as I already knew - became SO much cheaper and included all the things I liked and I knew were fresh. I'm sure I can't be the only one, for instance, who bought a ready-made salad only to find that the grated carrot was more like coloured string and almost totally inedible. The guinea pigs I used to have would have appreciated it but, as it was, it often finished up in the compost heap. The Mandoline is completely dishwasher safe - of course, with the exception ...

Stagg Chilli ... It's Flamin Great

Advantages: Can be nuked
Disadvantages: Could have been hotter

Recently I was asked if I actually eat any normal food after I wrote a fair number of ops regarding choccy bars ? well actually I do and what?s more I am a total nut on certain foods namely chilli !! When it comes to food of the world Tex/Mex ranks right up there at the top and for me the hotter the better. I love hot food, I want smoke coming out of my ears and flames shooting from my mouth with every mouthful. A great chilli is one that will make me sweat which unfortunately Stagg didn?t but that doesn?t mean that that it was c**p !! Now for me being a chilli connoisseur I was a little dubious about this stuff hence the reason it sat in my cupboard for weeks on end until I got a hankering for something hot instead of the choccy bars and other c**p foods people assume on Ciao! that I eat. Captain Corelli's Mandolin - A good love story

Advantages: nice cast and beautiful scenary
Disadvantages: not Nicholas Cage's normal type of role

It?s 1941 and the Second World War is in full swing. The Italians have just aligned with the German troops and invade Greece. The soldiers from Germany and Italy land on the Greek Island of Cephallonia where they are to have an occupying presence. They put a number of soldiers and captain?s into people?s homes to keep a close eye on things on the island.
