Stunning camera
Advantages: Great pictures, stunning effects, easy to use Disadvantages: Fragile, costly to develop
SERIOUSLY, BUY ME!
This camera is the best ever. A few years ago I stumbled on Lomography, and since then, I have started collecting the cameras and taking millions of pictures.
This is a standard 35mm film camera, cheap plastic casing, making pictures as random as stunning. However the built in fisheye lens distorts the vision, making look as if you were in a fish bowl. Close up elements look much bigger, and things in the distance shrink. Close ...

Lomo - Putting the coolness back into photography!
Advantages: Easy to use, unique images and very cool design Disadvantages: If you don't know what you're doing, it may take you a while!
I was given the Lomo Fisheye 2 camera as a present by my boyfriend at the time, as an enthusiastic photographer I thought this is a brilliant product for me to try out and see if I can broaden my abilities. I was not disappointed. Even if you are not into photography, and just wanted a camera that is a bit 'different' then this one definately delivers. It provides a 'fun' factor to photography and as there is so many different ways to shoot, you ... ...and after the 'perfect' photo). Lomo have even added a 'hotshoe' flash to give an extra punch of colour - so you can add a bit of craziness to your images!
The design of the camera is very sleek and contemporary and with the added multiple exposure setting, you can create layered photos which can look either spectacular, or an arty farty mess - either way you can't go wrong!
This camera is definately one of the funnest around, and is not bad value ...

Plastic fantastic, arty and fun!
Advantages: fun, quirky and original photos Disadvantages: basic actionsampler has no flash
...developed in Russia called the Lomo Kompact Automat. This camera was unique in that it had a very sharp lens and high light sensitivity, which produces an array of fabulously different photographs. The lomography society was born and from that came a number of "toy" cameras. The word "toy" does not refer to an inferior product, but implies the fun that can be had with these cameras. They are unlike any camera you will have used, and will produce ... ...achieve with a standard.
Now on to the actionsampler. I bought this little beauty off ebay for approx £15 brand new, so it's not much to spend if you want to try it out. The action sampler has 4 lenses, which takes 4 pictures each a second apart and puts them back together t create something quite incredible. The finished photograph is a series of the 4 different pictures it takes.
Here are just a couple of examples of photos you can get with the ...

Fantastic fun!
Advantages: its limits are as far as your imagination goes Disadvantages: very basic
As a photography student I have tried a lot of camera's in my time, and the holga oddly enough is one of my favourites (along with the mamiya 7 or fugi 6 x 9 standard, if anyone is interested). It is basically a plastic toy camera with a built in flash (powered by two AA batts, and with colour gels). It takes 120 film (with a 6 x 6 mask), and has a plastic lens which you can focus from about a metre away to infinity (the holga can actually focus ... ...than a metre). It has two shutter speeds, B and 125 with f/8, with a cloudy and sunny setting. It is a very basic camera, a point and shoot sort of thing. I've had some fantastic shots, but also some awful ones too. Its a super little camera just to play with. You can do a lot with it, from multi exposures to running 35mm through it. I wouldn't pay £45 for this camera though, I think I got mine for £20 on ebay and i would say it is well worth this ...

Shoot for gold
Advantages: Cheap, good fun Disadvantages: Small viewfinder
...following items: Gold POP 9 lomo camera x 1 A roll of film A poster of lomography / lomographers & a user's guide - with multiple languages for many lomographers. The camera itself is very lightweight, but its build is somewhat plasticky, so the first time I picked it up I thought it felt rather fragile to handle. But with its plasticky casing, it wasn't too bad once you get the hang of it; its weight is just about right, not being either too heavy ... ...wherever you go. Loading film: The loading of the 35mm film were easy, a simple process that required the most basic knowledge of film cameras and off you went with the shooting. The winder is situated at the bottom left corner of the back camera, which makes it easier for anyone that wants to wind right after taking a photo to take another speedily. If you're daring enough to play around with the film, you can simply press the film release button ...
