Me not being the richest of people i couldnt afford the pink palace, which i was desparate for the accomadate my very spoilt hamster. So for my 14th birthday i begged my dad for it. Which he kindly got me.
Once i had unwrapped it and taken it out of its box, i was puzzled, hundreds of little bits and bobs lay scattered all over the sitting room floor. Not being incredibly bright i asked my mum to piece it together for me, which she managed...not very sure how seeing as the instructions were not overly helpful, that is the writing being in a diffrent laungage and the pictures bleak. However, it was finally put together.
My hamster lived in a old fashioned cage, big, hefty and not very eye catching. So i thought that it would be over the moon to see that it would finally be moving into a stylish palace. But it wasn't. Infact it tried to chew its way out several times, and seemed to spent all day and night in the large tube swirling around the outside. Normally it was very active, so worried i moved it back into its old cage, where it was happy as larry.
when i went to clean the cage out i found it very difficult and had to take it to bits, which was all very hard to put back together!
The wheel which is on one of the levels i found rubbed my hamsters back because of the metal piece holding it together-good quality wheels don't tend to have these.
But heres me complaining when actually i found it a very good cage to keep an eye on my hamster, i love to see what she gets up to!
With her old cage she would regulary escape meaning an angry mum after the cooker and fridge had been pulled out, but i have to say she never escaped from the Pink Palace. (well i lie, only once when i forgot to close the lid!)
For anyone that has or is getting a Pink Palace a good way to clean it is to fill a bath with warm water and some sort of soap (i used Flash) and then take the Palace to bits in the most simplest form and leave it to soak for a few minutes then scrub....always worked for me!! :)
Hope you found this useful! :)
