Advantages: Cheap, good quality sound Disadvantages: not enough ports
My computer is getting on a bit, my soundcard was a Creative Live 1024 and saw this card for £25 brand new and thought that's a bargain compared to other 24bitcards.
After buying the card it installed very easily and the software bundle that came with it is very useful.
I've always used creative as I find the sound quality is very good and using it for gaming you need it. This card was much better than my Live 1024 but I doubt many people would be able to notice. The card has the ability to switch between 4.1, 5.1, 6.1 or 7.1 sound. I currently use a 5.1 surround sound headset so set it 5.1 and it is fantastic.
The software bundle that comes with it is very good and easy to use. For the average home user this bundle will be more than enough to fully enjoy this card. One of the features I use the most is the media center ...

be available to complete a trouble free install. Installing the software was straightforward. There was a limited number of standard questions, such as install location and the wizard was happy to carry on unattended.

You will need to find a free PCI slot in your computer, remove the protective metal plate from the back of your PC and snap the card into place. Put the lid back on your PC and screw the antenna to the newly positioned card. That is ...
Advantages: smaller size, usb connection support, 3D sound experience, very cheap, high SNR ratio. Disadvantages: Does not support all OS, requires very powerful processor& ram,all features not works on XP
on the data bus speed available for that usb port. In modern days, almost all the PC got USB port 2.0, which enable this soundcard to provide the maximum output as in stereo/surround sound24bit/96kHz and also can go along with up to 5.1 speaker system, truly amazing isn?t it? But if the USB is 1.1 then the output sound quality drastically drops to 16 bit/kHz in case of surround sound.
Creative technology claimed to have SNR 100dB, SNR stands for signal to noise ratio, as the higher the ratio, the less obtrusive the background noise will be and also the clearer output sound will be. So virtually, there will be no noise effect for this soundcard. But later it created some controversy, so they changed the theme to SNR ratio is higher than 99db, just to stay on safer side, haha.
