Xbox 360 network adapter, to buy or not?

Advantages: makes connecting to live wireless
Disadvantages: very high price

i bought this for £50 second hand, and i found it very easy to use and it connected to my modem in minutes, but i know not everyone connects it as easy as i did, infact i couldnt connect it to my old router when i first got an xbox 360, so then i went for the ethernet cable method which is ideal if the router is in the same room as the xbox 360 because its much cheaper, gauranteed to work and normally makes connection better, but in my case i had a 30m ethernet cable running down my stairs which is not ideal! therefore when i bought my xbox 360 back i wanted to get it sorted with the network adapter. Fater than a speeding bullett

Advantages: USB 1.1 Backwards Compatable

I bought this card for 12 quid out of desperation. The desperation was that a lot of USB1.1 devices were not working on my PC and a lot were; I'd be interested to know if anyone else has had this problem. Once I had installed the card and switched on the computer (running windows 2000) there were a few problems with installation of the drivers, the first being that the PDF files had language incompatibility problems. This is not a real problem though as there is word documents. The second problem was that the drivers cannot be installed directly from the CD this caused severe frustration for me as no matter which directory I looked in the hardware wizard could not find the drivers. Like all good engineers I never read instruction manuals even if I had it, they did not tell you what you had to do to install the drivers ...

Winning the card wars

If like me, you've got a variety of cameras, using different memory cards, you sometimes wish there was only one format. Why? Because then you can just buy a load of cards all of the same sort, and they'd work in all the cameras. The Minolta SD-CF1 is an adapter for those with a whole load of SD (Secure Digital) type cards, who also have a CF (Compact Flash) compatible camera too. Why should I need to buy a 512Mb CF for my Minolta, when I have a perfectly good 512Mb SD card for my brand new Megxon? Well with this device, I won't of course.
