Advantages: Fast, super-stylish and near-silent. Disadvantages: Difficult to detect activity.
I have owned this drive for a few months and have found it to be excellent. But I disagree with a previous review in several areas.
This is the most stylish externalharddrive I have seen. It is also one of the cheapest per GB, currently available for just £93 at Misco.co.uk, for example.
It works with Macs and PCs and is almost silent. It comes with a USB cable and a driver CD for old Windows operating systems. The external design is superb minimalism and looks like it could have been designed by Apple themselves. The case is all aluminium except the front and back. The front face is black except for the capacity indicator of ?500GB? which lights up in blue and flickers during activity. The rear has the power and USB ports and a small power switch.
The 500GB box value translates to 465GB under Windows due to the differing ways ...
Advantages: 250GB capacity, 2 firewire port, 1 usb ports Disadvantages: alittle bit expensive
Hello again and welcome to Chan's new toys!
Just had a box delieverd to my home 2 weeks ago which i hadn't ordered, someone at work had given me new hardware to help with a task I've got to do. How well people know me, give me new harware to play with and i'll do any work they want!

It turns out a media centre is a rather large USB and firewire harddrive, with a few extras thrown in to make it look special.
What you get is a 250Gb drive, 2 firewire ports, 1usb port to go to your machine and 2 usb ports to connect ...
Advantages: Easy to use even for beginners. Disadvantages: None that I have found.
Having experienced one or two fatal computer crashes in the past and lost every single file on my harddrive and on the first occasion without a back-up, I have been very careful about backing up my files to DVD disks since, but it was quite a slow and laborious task waiting for those disks to burn, and then on some occasions I would get that dreaded message, "back-up failed!" appear on the screen and have to start all over again!
Watching the QVC shopping channel one Sunday morning, I noticed that they were demonstrating the ClickFree externalharddrive, and all you had to do was to plug it in to your USB port and wait. It would search and back-up every file on your harddrive without you having to click or do anything, and then once it had done its job, all you had to do was simply unplug it and put it away. This was something that ...
