Advantages: Reliable, good support Disadvantages: bigger than other similar routers from competitors
This unit replaced an awful Belkin router which was a simlar specification and price. This router was so much better, i.e. it worked,
The installation was straightforward enough, and the router was up and running with 2 pc's connected without a problem.
Compared to the Belkin unit it is a no frills product, the colour is OK, but whereas the Belkin looked sleek, thie linksys s more function over form. I wasn;t really bothered though, it was going to be sat next to the modem out of sight.
The ethernet sockets are round the back of the unit, and the system LED's are on the front. Also the unit is stable enough not to be lifted when multiple wires are plugged into it. This can be a problem with very small units which are so light the cables own tension can lift them off the floor/desk where you placed them.

Advantages: Good Speed, Easy Configuration, Quick Setup, Good Documentation, Integrated 4-Port Switch Disadvantages: Many configurable options, some networking knowledge required
I would highly recommend this Router to either a networking novice or professional looking to setup a home or small office network.
I was surprised at how easy this was to setup and configure in my environment.
After connecting the few cables and rebooting my PC's, everything seemed great though I could not connect to the Internet. I realised that I have not restarted my Cable Modem and after doing so eveything linked correctly and could again access the internet.
On reading the documentation I realised I should have done this initially, however this omission was down to my normal method of only reading the documentation after the installation.
The Router has a large number of features that can be customised to suit your own environment, and some that perhaps should be left for those of a more technical nature.

Advantages: High speed sharing of internet connection. Free on-line and phone help Disadvantages: A bit tricky to set up for me at first..
on and off and data is sent and received to the worldwide web.
Other capabilities is has is that through the 10/1004-port switch (I don't know what this means but we've got it!) we can share files, printer, music or anything either of us has on our hard drives. I can also plug the USB adapter into my laptop and carry it anywhere in the house and connect to the internet.
The router is also equipped with a firewall that will protect our network from hackers and such the like, although I still have Mcafee firewall/virus software installed and would not like to be on line without it.
Another available option is a parental control web content filter, so that parents can filter out undesired material when their children are on-line.
