Manufacturer's product description
Thermal Conductive Grease for Heatsink creates a thermal bond between CPU and heatsink for maximum cooling capacity. The StarTech.com thermal transfer compound improves the effectiveness of CPU coolers by thermally bonding the CPU to the heatsink. This ensures that the heatsink and fan can work at their full capacity to remove the harmful heat away from the CPU, and prevent burnout or heat damage.
Advantages: Does its job, comes with good instructions, easy to use, some nice features Disadvantages: More expensive then usual compound (worth it though if you have very cold CPU)
.... This compound is specifically used because it is very efficient at transferring heat from the processor onto the heatsink. The compound has many tiny thermallyconductive particles mixed into it, and so is more effective at transferring the heat then air is. Air is going to be common between the heatsink and processor, unless they are both completely flat, which is impossible to be sure of really, unless you 'lap' your heatsink (basically polish it down as much as possible). Though the processor and heatsink may look flat to the human eye, under a microscope they won't be, so they won't be in perfect contact with each over. This will mean tiny air pockets will be present, which is why it's best to put something in-between the two components - which is why we use the heatsink compound. The compound is effective at drawing out the heat from...

Advantages: Non-conducting, easily applicable, very good cooling Disadvantages: tube is rather small, for approx 10 applications
...When buying a CPU or Graphics card, most manufacturers have already installed or included a heatsink + thermalconducting paste or pad with the product.
This thermalconducting paste is usually made of silicone, either grey or white and has the effect of filling the gaps between the heatsink and the chip, to improve heat transfer from one surface to the other.
So you are wondering why companies like Akasa produce heatsink paste when something is already included. The answer is that the Akasa product (TC 5022 Pro) performs significantly better than the standard one and holds its ground against other pastes (like Arctic Silver).
The paste comes in a small tube and is pretty expensive. The compound is made of silicone, but has the benefit that it is easily applied on surfaces, as well as performing very good, even when not applying...

Advantages: Can be used with a screwdriver Disadvantages: You can lose these
...The perfect screw for any toolbox.
This screw is made out of metal.
This screw is an ideal length for application on many different surfaces, with a wide thread for extra holding power and to reduce cross-threading. When many are used, these do a much better job than 'no more nails'.
These screws are great for mounting fans and also used for other DIY jobs around the house.
StarTech.com provides an extensive range of screws for all purposes. They also provide a great customer service.
Other Information
To apply any screw, you require a screwdriver. These come in a range of sizes and prices. You may also find high-tech electric screwdrivers available from all good retailers or screw by hand if you've got the patience and small hands. Giants may find this impossible though!
However, before you purchase these, make...
