...I bought this to use with my Netgear DG834G router and I must say it's excellent. Not only can I use it on my laptop but as it's usb on desktop computers as well. This makes it handy when I have other people round with there computers I can connect them to my network and give them internet access.
It can do 11mbps and 54mbps and will work on USB 1 but slower.
It comes with a usb extension cable so it can be positioned for best signal. You also get the Netgear version on Wireless conectivity software which you can use instead of the Windows version which is much better, with the Netgear software I picked up a few networks in my areas where as the Windows version only picked up the one....

Advantages: EASY ACCESS TO USB PORTS Disadvantages: INITIAL SETUP FOR NON-PC PEOPLE
...in the world to install, but far from the hardest too. You will need a little PC knowledge but not much. Basically what you do is open the pc up and fit the plate to the front of the PC (either to a 3.5 or 5.5 inch drive bay, adapter is included for larger drive bay), then you run a lead to the back plate which has a notch for the lead to go through (also included) then you plug the lead into your current USB port on the back of your PC and job done. (NB. Should you plug the lead to a USB 1.0 port on the back of the PC everything can only then run at up to USB 1.0 speed not USB2.0 speed. For that you will need a current USB2.0 port on the back of the PC).
EASE OF USE
Once installed this is the great part. I mean USB was sold on its plug and play nature, you don’t have to reboot your machine to plug in a new device. However you always...

...A short review on my Netgear WG111T 108 Mbps Wireless USB2.0Adapter, Its a wireless way of connecting to the internet when the main router is downstairs or in another room.
When I switched from using a DLINK wireless adaptor to the Netgear WG111T 108 Mbps one it was a great move. It took about 15 mins to set up, its user freindly, and it connects quickly once logged onto your computer.
Its a small compact silver design than can easily fit into your pocket, its about 1cm thick and 6cm in lenght (approx).
I've used it for about 4 months and its worked great not a single problem..yet! it cost around £25, if your not keen on spending £20 -£35 on a wireless adaptor you can go for its younger brother the "Netgear WG111 Wireless 54Mbps USB2.0Adapter for around £15. It looks a bit different to the one im reviewing and its connection...
