Advantages: Great results, healthier looking nails, easy, cheap.
Disadvantages: Cant get right up close to the cuticle or do them too often.

...block from The Body Shop, at just £4.00 they are an absolute bargain! This is basically a piece of foam with the four longer sides having a slightly different surface to use on your nails. Each step is written on the block itself from one to four. I should point out that mine looks slightly different to the picture, the colours of the sides is different and the foam (is blue in the picture) on mine is white. Step one. File nail. This is a great emery board, it is black and finer than some so gives a really smooth snag free finish to your nails. Remember to only file in one direct not back and forth as that damages your nails. Step two. Remove ridges. This side is pale green and not as rough as the emery board but has a similar effect only you don't use this on the ends of your nails but the faces of them to smooth them out so... Read review

...My nails are my pride and joy. A good nail file is important to keep my nails in shape and feeling smooth. Ruby & Millie Perfect Nail File is the file of my choice. It look good. It is about seven inches long and is made from crystal glass with the name Ruby & Millie written on it. It comes in a neat plastic wallet which fastens at the top with a snap lock. It is easy to use. File in one direction only. Ater use rinse with warm water and store away in its case until needed. It does a good job. My nails are always left smooth and I rarely have any problems with splits or breakags. It is however quite expensive. It costs £13 from Boots but it is worth the cost for the results it gives....
