This is a brilliant game which I decided to buy after I had bought and played star trek armada two, I no it should go the other way round but I didn’t see the first one then. Although the first game isn’t as good as the second one it is still quite a good game to play for star trek fans like me! Well I prefer the games to the series. Any way in this game you can choose between four different races to be e.g. Federation/ Borg/ Klingon and I don’t remember the other one unfortunately as I have uninstalled the game now because it doesn’t work properly with my version of windows, but I still managed to play the game and finish it so it wasn’t so bad.
The graphics are really good compared to some other games I no which are also the same age as this game and you can build starbases to harvest resources and construct your armada, you can also board derelict vessels and repair them to add to your fleet. You get over thirty ships and special weapons such as phasers photon torpedoes, quantum torpedoes etc to use in combat. You can also play this game in multiplayer via LAN or Internet so you can destroy your friend’s armadas and egos.
There are also tons of missions to do such as save the enterprise, do not let the enterprise be destroyed, do not let warfs ship be destroyed, do not let locutus be destroyed, umm destroy all enemy ships and bases in the area and many more, also the missions are quite difficult so you wont be able to finish them very quickly unless you cheat!!!
I bought this game for about £6.00 in HMV which was a real bargain I thought and I’m sure you would probably to unless its gone down by now? But I would recommend this game to any one who enjoys strategic games and who enjoys a challenge.
Here are the game requirements:
PROCESSOR: Pentium 200 or above HARD DRIVE: 685 MB free space SOUND: 16 bit MEMORY: 32 MB CD-ROM: 4 speed GRAPHICS: direct 3D compatible DIRECT X: Direct X 7 included

I have had this game for ages and it is far better than the lame sequel that followed.
Did you know that you can modify the game by using
downloads from the web. (put in a search for "armada mods")
The site I used before was called Starmods but I think it has been discontinued
I downloaded 4 conversions which changed the game totally.
1, Star Trek V Star Wars -
You can play as the Fedaration, Klingons, Rebel Alliance and the Empire ( the enterprise v a Star Destroyer- brilliant!!!)
2, Babylon 5 Conversion
Play as Earth Force, Minbari,Vorlons or the Shadows with all the ships from the series including the Excalibar from the Crusade series.
3, Expanded Star Trek (Title- Millenium Project)
Play with a bigger selection of ships and the Borg ships are bigger and more powerful.
4, Include the Dominion ( I think this was called Galactic War)
The romulans have been replaced with the Dominion,Breen and Cardassions.
The borg are more powerful and include the Kremnin and Kazon
Species 8472 are playable.
You can also download smaller mods if you want. Check it out

I used to think Star Trek was good. I still watch it sometimes, but there's no new ones. It's also kind of annoying, caus I can't understand them
