    Disadvantages Disadvantages Not a classic

I remember when this was first released, around the same time as the film by the same name. At the time my PC wasn't up to it but as soon as I got a new computer I saw this for £10 in the local games shop, so snapped it up! I had read the reviews of course, all of which said pretty much the same thing; it was Ok, good even, but not brilliant. Star Wars games in general are very much a mixed bag. I loved the X-Wing space shooter series but other games were less favourable (Rebel Assault anyone?). One thing that always amazes me is the way in which a mediocre game can be made better simply ... more

    Advantages Advantages AAAAAaaaaaarggggghhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Slightly jumpy at times

Flying through canyons at hundreds of kilometres an hour in a flimsy cockpit held by wires to two huge engines held together with pure energy narrowly missing the edges. Remind you of that great sequence in episode 1? Well, its actually me playing my new game, a racing game based on Star wars episode 1, originally called Star wars episode 1 racer. Exhillarating, addictive and frustrating. The graphics are amazing, and the sound is great, especially if you have a sub-woofer. Where most games would have a boring menu for buying rplacements and upgrades, this has scenes that wouldn't have looked ... more

    Advantages Advantages quite fun.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages graphics.

this is quite a cool game, but it could be so much better. its just like the film but you control it, simple. So off you go in an adventure playing as your favourite EP:1 characters, smashing droids with you lightsaber and a few different guns and bombs. but its not as fun as it sounds, it ok, but it could be alot better, the graphics are quite bad, there is not enough different enemies and there needs to be more weopons. If it could somehow add all this then this game would be a must have, but it doesnt, so you'll just have to put up with this. it good but it gets boring, so dont get it ... more

Advantages Advantages Has the star wars name

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Lack of enjoyment...

I owned this game for over 6 months now and cannot remember when I played on it last. Therefore its not going to get a good review cos I cannot remember much!!!. I had problems running this game, due to a lack of memory and 3D card in my computer. Its needs 64Mb memory and a fairly decent 3D card, whereas I only had 32mb and and a 2D card.So I had to dish out another £100 quid on top of the game to run the disk.So I recommend always to check the mimimum spec of the game very carefully, or you will end up paying £130 for a game I got bored of in 2 weeks!!! I found the game to be good at first ... more

Advantages Advantages Good Graphics, nice sound and fast!

Disadvantages Disadvantages not much replay value

I brought this game after playing it at a friends house and seeing the pod race on the big screen when Episode 1 came out. First of all, I've got to say that it is the fastest racing game I've ever played. The team at Lucas Arts really did a good job at conveying the sense of high speed motion over a wide selection of terrains. Ludicrous speeds pushing 1000mph can be achived sometimes but this can cause problems as the handling takes a bit of getting used to. It's very much an arcasdy game however and while it certainly fun while it lasts, it soon loses its appeal. The tracks are quite varied ... more
