Star Wars The Force Unleashed delves into the relatively unexplained era of the star wars saga. The storyline revolves around a secret apprentice of Darth Vader’s, who he uses to hunt down and kill remaining Jedi that have survived the clone wars. It builds on the time between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.
The game begins with you initially hunting down and eventually killing three Jedi’s, before being ‘killed’ by Darth Vader, only to be bought back to life. After this stage you begin your secret mission again with Darth Vader to overthrow the Emperor (The first three missions are to prove as a test to Darth Vader that together you can overthrow the Emperor, after which you are left for dead to hide the fact you are really alive and trying to kill the Emperor).
Graphically the game is excellent, and the 7 or 8 minute out cuts are very true to life, they almost look like a movie in their own right. The also help to explain the game and developments between the two films. The style of the game makes it good value for money, as you will need to go back or spend time looking for ‘spheres’ to help boost your power, and to change for fighting styles with the new powers you earn. You can also change smaller things that make the game better to play like the character or costumes and colour of the lightsaber you wield.
If there is one issue with the game it is that there are no multiplayer functions, so only the single player missions can be played. Having said this the game is very good for the different styles of fighting and customisation you can add to it to make the game more personal to how you want to play it.
Overall, I would probably not recommend buying the game, but instead borrowing it or renting it as once you have completed the game, it takes roughly 6-10 hours of game play, it is over, then you are left with little to do but sell it on or continue trying to find any remaining ‘spheres’ or just having fun killing enemies. So in all rather than buying the game new or pre-owned, then only having a few days in which to complete it and then have nothing else to do seems to be a waste of money to me, and the fact that it has no online play does not help to extend the

If fast-paced action, stylish hack and slash combos, and whacking shite with a lightsaber is the thing for you then this game really hits the spot, but if your looking for longevity and varied gameplay then you had best look elsewhere. Manufacturer's product description
The Star Wars saga will continue in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, a videogame developed by LucasArts, which casts players as Darth Vader's "Secret Apprentice" and promises to unveil new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy. The expansive story, created under direction from George Lucas, is set during the largely unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. In it, players will assist the iconic villain in his quest to rid the universe of Jedi - and face decisions that could change the course of their destiny. As its name implies, The Force Unleashed completely re-imagines the scope and scale of the Force by taking full advantage of newly developed technologies that will be seen and experienced for the first time: Digital Molecular Matter (DMM), by Pixelux Entertainment, and euphoria by NaturalMotion Ltd. Paired with the powerful Havok Physics system, these new technologies create gameplay only possible on the new generation of consoles. DMM incorporates the physical properties of anything in the environment so that everything reacts exactly like it should - wood breaks like wood, glass shatters like glass, plants on the planet Felucia bend like plants on the planet Felucia would, and more. Meanwhile, as a revolutionary behavioral-simulation engine, euphoria enables interactive characters to move, act and even think like actual human beings, adapting their behavior on the fly and resulting in a different payoff every single time.
