Stargate SG1 - Season 1

Advantages: Gripping, addictive, plenty too watch, perfect in most ways
Disadvantages: expensive and may take up most of your days for the next while

I?ve been a massive fan of the Stargate franchise since my older brother brought home the first season box set a couple of years ago and we sat down to watch it nearly every day. Ok, so first I?ll begin with an explanation of the Stargate SG1 universe. Here goes. Humans are a the next step in the evolutionary path of a race of aliens known as the ?Ancients?. They were a massively advanced race both in technoligy and mentaly who existed millions of years ago. But they eventually reached a point in their evolution when they became beings of pure energy known as ?ascendedd being? who live on a different plane of existance. But this information isn?t realised for a few seaons. I tell you this because of a few common misconceptions that are sometimes spawned early on in the series. The Ancients created a device known as the Stargate ...

Stargate SG1

Advantages: Good Storyline
Disadvantages: To Much US Government Policies

Most people know or have heard of Stargate SG1 somewhere along the line as people have with Star Trek but I will go over this show for the people that either are unfamiliar or have not heard of it at all. The show is about a secret United States Government operation run mainly by the Air Force, which deals with a project, which is called The SGC (Stargate Command) facility. It is located in Canada in the mountains, which is hard to find. The SGC deals with a device called a Stagate, which allows people to travel to planets all over the galaxy and acquire technology and alliances. The main characters in this program are Col. Jonathan "Jack" O'Neill played by Richard Dean Anderson. This character is the leader of the team SG1 who co-ordinated them and gives out the orders. He is not the smartest member of the team but does have a knack ...

Stargate SG-1 - MGM's best

Advantages: Great Story and Characters
Disadvantages: None

Stargate SG-1, I love this series. Here is what it’s all about. OVERVIEW Stargate SG-1 is a Canadian TV Series that became a spin off from the 1994 Movie ‘Stargate’. The concept of the show was kept the same as the film, but the cast were completely different except for one ‘Skaara’ played by Alexis Cruz. Stargate SG-1 is based on Earth, in Canada, in an area named Cheyenne Mountain. The Stargate is a big round device that once activated creates a wormhole connecting it to hundreds, even thousands of other Stargates in the Universe. Each Stargate has these symbols that are called Glyphs around it, and these represent different addresses. A device called the Dial Home Device also has all the Glyphs on it, and this device is used to dial another Stargate. Each address has 7 glyphs in it, and once an address has been dialled ...
