Sometimes, I don't want to drink a beer that's overly complex. Sometimes, I just want an easy-drinking brewski that, although it's maybe not the most fascinating beer in the world, is still a top quality product.

...top quality product. STAROPRAMEN have been brewing quality beers since around 1870 right in the centre of Prague. They brew a range of differing ales, but their most successful, and best-known, is a golden lager called...um, STAROPRAMEN LAGER. Like just about every brewery in Europe these days, they're now part of the colossus that is the Interbrew family. http://www.pivovary-staropramen.cz/web/en/ Speaking of family.....
One day, Mr. Clumpett rushed ... ...colour." STAROPRAMEN pours a bright, crystal clear, golden-honey colour, with a lively carbonation forming a creamy white head. The dissipates slowly and coats the glass with abundant lace. The aroma is crisp and clean, and very fragrant with what are probably Saaz hops - a little similar to freshly-mown grass. There is also plenty of good malt aroma, and some earthy tones. The first taste I notice, is a pleasant, biscuity malt character. There's ...

Advantages: Price, availablity, taste, quality Disadvantages: Boring people to death talking about its merits
...the pubs of the UK, Staropramen is three things which the others are not - inexpensive, tasty and widely available. Lagers such as Stella Artois, available in almost every pub, are pricey and frankly not-that-great. Becks, Carlsberg, Carling and Heineken, the cheap alternatives, are weak and completely untasty. There are a few other lagers which are either local brews or specialist lagers, which can be tasty and cheap but are often only available ... ...Staropramen, on the other hand, combines all these qualities. Usually cheaper than Stella Artois, it is great tasting (refreshing, full-bodied and punchy) and is sold on-tap at most pubs. Of course, in some pubs they opt to sell San Miguel as the "alternative" premium lager, but where available, I'd recommend Star' as the only lager worthy of consmption. ...

Advantages: tastes great, nice glass Disadvantages: can be overpriced
Staropramen is a Czech lager, first brewed in Prague in 1869, but didn't get its brand name registration until 1911. Today, it is the Czech Republics top selling beer and is sold in many countries all over the world. I hear that is very popular in Ireland, sold almost as frequently as Guinness. It is now widely available in many UK pubs and clubs and is reasonably priced too. Right, enough with the introduction, now to the important part of any drink ... ...great. Although its full bodied, Staropramen is smooth and surprisingly light, meaning it is very easy to drink. It also has tremendous thirst quenching potential, so is lovely on a hot day in the beer garden of you're local. Another nice feature of the beer is that unlike many modern lagers you get a nice head to you're pint which is quite thick and frothy. The glass is also nice, tall and with the Staropramen logo on the front. As well as being ...

Advantages: classy, authentic,'i feel like I'm on holiday', beer. Disadvantages: it's not British.
...I cannot understand why Peroni Nastro Azzuro is not more widely available. If you look at all the premium lagers available in supermarkets these days there are lots and lots of pretty awful excuses for beer. especially the Australian rubbish that is figuratively stuffed down our throats by the advertising moguls. The trouble with Aussie beer is, it tastes like something a kangaroo left behind unless you chill it until it is almost solid and then it miraculously tastes of.......nothing.
Fortunately Nastro Azzuro belongs to the genre of classy, well-brewed and flavoursome European lagers that we have become accustomed to since we have been more widely travelled.
Nastro Azzuro is as good as, if not better than most of the Eastern European lagers like Staropramen and Pilsner Urquell. It is also far superior to te Belgian and Dutch...

HOEGAARDEN WHITE BEER.
Belgian white wheat beer is brewed by a top fermentation process. It contains 55% malted barley and 45% unmalted wheat. Amongst other ingredients added to the mix are hops, coriander and dried orange peel. After it has been put into the keg or bottle further yeast is added so that a second fermentation process takes place. This causes several effects: the final brew is cloudy (it is not filtered), it has a natural carbonation and the yeast aids the keeping qualities...
