Most of the startrite shops I have seen are small so not intimidating to young children I can remember throwing many a temper tantrum in a shoe shop when I was a child. I think there are Startrite shoes available in good chain stores too.

One of the reasons I chose Startrite over Clarks was that Sally has a very narrow foot I felt the sizing and styles fitted her feet best.
Startrite are a good strong serviceable shoe attractive and yet sensible I would recommend them as a shoe for any child.
A child’s feet are precious they have to last a lifetime having correctly fitting shoes is important. Children’s bones are very soft and can be misshapen by poorly fitting shoes and little feet grow so quickly that it is a good idea to have them checked every few months.
