Take my advice DO NOT PURCHASE ONE OF THESE even if someone is practically giving it away. They are absolute rubbish. Where does one start with such a piece of junk? Never in the field of scooters was something made so badly. Below is a list of the problems which I hope will put you off and save you some time and money. Don't be tempted by what looks like a bargain on Ebay. You'll only end up will a pile of scrap. PLEASE profit from my mistake.
1. Delivery 1 month late and a different model from the one advertised 2. The mirrors don't fit properly 3. Overall build quality very poor 4. No power or acceleration 5. There's loose parts all over it 6. Bits fall of for no reason whatsoever 7. It takes at least 15 min to warm up. On some cold days it won't start 8. Totally lacks power. Stalls on you in the middle of traffic even when hot. Can be downright dangerous 9. The manual has translated badly, although this can be quite funny in parts 10. The company who import this rubbish do not want to know after you have purchased it. They never answer the phone 11. The warranty is a joke. If you don't have it serviced by a proper garage in the recommended timescale you invalidate your warranty even though this only means changing the oil. This is a joke and a get out clause so they can wash their hands of it. They know they always break down. 12. Hyper depreciation worth £0 as soon as you take ownership
Take my advice and take your motorcycle training and buy a 125 from Honda or some other reputable manufacturer. If you have to have a 49cc go for a well known brand not the Chinese rubbish that's imported into this country.
However if you do like holding up the traffic, causing road rage, having not an ounce of street cred and people pointing and laughing at you then this scooter is tailor made for you.
Hope this has been of some use to you.
I have a happy ending to this story. After 8 months ARGOS has agreed to a full refund. This was only after threatening them with legal action. I've since become quite an expert in consumer law so if anyone is considering going down that path please contact me at sean.vickers@tesco.net and I will only be too happy to offer you some advice. I have since purchased a Honda CBR125 which goes like a dream but here again you only get what you paid for. One final warning please take no notice of review 18. Advantages: 70 MPG Disadvantages: It is dangerous due to the fact of size and light weight.
In the old days the most popular scooter named VESPA or Lambretta.
These scooters are made in Italy and if they are well maintened they could last for ever. In our days they are several scooters made in China which they are like toys and lasts for real short time..
What is a scooter? it's the transition between a Motorcycle and a lighter street legal which is less than 50 CC, required no license or insurance . They are per say street legal, cannot ... ...35 to 40 miles .
Scooter is light and the most could weight is about 120 lbs or 65 Kilo.
The old days scooters must mix fuel with oil and they had special section in all gas stations which they do the mix for scooter owners.
In our days with the newe thecnology, the motor have seprates sections for fuel and oil and ther is a dip stick to change the oil lever as we have in our car.
Most of todays scooters advertise 70 MPG which indicates that ...

...When I rung up Starway and said that my bike was 8 months old and i still had 4 months left on my years warrenty and it has been serviced when they said it should be in the manual but starway pretty much said we don't want to know.
In the End i rung them up and stirred it up a lot and rung up Argos (the place i brought it from) and gave them hell there and got in contact with their legal team who fighted the case for me and eventually after 3 weeks ... ...give us the parts and they would fit them and repair the bike if you pay £100 to deliver it to them. Even though i should have been done anyway on the warranty.
So be careful when you bike breaks and no one @ starway will give a toss. ...

Quick review of Starway 50QT-7 Scooter
Do not buy a starway 50qt .I recenty bought one through Grattans and it came from MP cycles. It has only done 72 miles and the electrics have packed in. no horn. indicators or electric start . it seems to have lost power. and is a nightmare to kick start. I phoned MP cycles and was told to contact a local garage. The garage told me that they have received a number of starways with the same problem. they told me they will have a look at it, but it might be some time before they can get any parts. my advice to anyone thinking of buying a starway is look else ware , starway is chineese crap. steer well clear. Advantages: Fuel Consumption, accompanying tool kit and user manual Disadvantages: Reliability, safety
My experiences with the Starway 50QT scooter are sour at best. My initial advice would be to buy a scooter from a specialist motorcycle dealer, not a national bric-a-brac store. My problems began when my main stand fell off without warning. This was followed by problems such as the exhaust welding cracking, resulting in the exhaust body falling off during use. the handle bars were not correctly fixed and wobbled, along with the loose wing mirrors. ... ...by EU legislation, however the Starway very rarely reached 26mph for me and power would sporadically be lost whilst I was driving around town. In conclusion I would say that the Starway 50QT is unreliable and down right dangerous around other traffic, particularly at round-abouts. A redeeming factor would be the fact that if in safe working condition, the Starway is an excellent beginner scooter, easy to engineer on the spot and is accompanied by ...

I just got a Starway and it is fantastic.I doint now why there is so many bad reviews. The company cjhanged hands this year and took over the old bust Starway company. They say they have changed suppliers and that the quality is better. They did everything for me including taxing it,first service, proper handover when they delivered it.Found me a local garage and rang me when the first service was due to remind me asnd paid for first service.Bike runs great but it will do if its looked after and I love it ...
