...I finally opted for the Domotec Super Elite DSC00013. As I spent so much time reviewing steam cleaning equipment I have summarised the specifications on http://www.ucanclean.co.uk where you can compare models and add reviews.
So far this steam cleaner has been absolutely brilliant, its so powerful.
The Domotec DSC00013 has a good specification and is provided with a versatile range of tools including 2 extension tubes which permit reaching ceilings ... ...rate at 130 gm/min. The Domotec lifted easy stains on a few passes. For more stubborn stains I had to leave the floor/carpet tool over the stain for 30 seconds. One stain which appeared to be engine oil (according to my wife who knows these things), I used the concentrator nozzle for 20 seconds. Waited 10 mins for the carpet to dry and then vacuumed out dirt residue and then repeated. This technique works on the stubborn stains, even the "engine ...

...they were selling 1200 watt Vax V-084 hand held steam cleaners for £29.99. It looked like the answer to our problems and as I had a voucher for the shop, I wasted no time popping one in the trolley.
There are various attachments included which, on reading the instruction booklet, gave me the impression my life would somehow become easier when it came to shifting the grime and lime that tends to accumulate, especially in the bathroom.
Cleaning the ... ...some diluted bleach had been a long, arduous, arm aching task but not anymore, or so I thought…….!

JML Steamstation Pro. This is a small machine which uses the power of steam to quickly and effectively clean, and to quickly and effectively steam clothes instead of ironing. I bought the steamstation from JML's own website http://www.jmldirect.com/Steam-Station-Pro-PS3415/ here you can see a small video and info about the product. It is £58.71 but i paid £80 for the upgraded version with all the attachments. I can't think this product would be of ... ...well ignore the cheaper one. JML are very proffesional, it is easy to buy and delivery is very quick. I ordered this because i hate ironing and i thought that an easy and quick solution like this would be fantastic. So... imagine a white watering can, the hole on the top is sealed with a screw in purple lid. Advantages: Heats to steam quickly - probably heat of kills germs as steam is hot Disadvantages: Leaves floors very, wet. End up double cleaning everything - covers poor - waste of space!
Not impressed with the H20 steam mop product, which falls far short of the detailed TV advert performance.
On hard floors it leaves them sopping wet, not so much of a problem on a matt finish amtico type floor but with laminate, there's no way you could leave it .
Ended up with twice the work, having to use my superwonder mop to wipe all excess water to leave floor with decent finish when dry.
Even on clean carpet which is just being freshened ... ...it seems to roll any dirt in almost fluff balls which then have to be vacuumed again when it dries. It seems to double the work involved whatever the surface.
The covers provided are also pretty poor in fit and quality with a tendency to come off - difficult to put back on with heat. Also they seem to fall to bits somewhat (particulary the blue micro cover which bits fall off - only used it 2 times)
Overall I wouldn't recommend it to anyone and ...
...carpet. When I contacted Bissell about this they were next to useless in their response. Eventually however, it was picked up for repair after many phone calls and letters were sent to Bissell. The machine was eventually returned to me however, on unpacking it, I found that both back wheels had been smashed. More phone calls and letter ensued. Finally after even more phone calls and letters they promised to send a replacement machine. The second ... ...to work. It started emitting a strong burning smell and then stopped working. This machine has given me nothing but grief during the time I have owned it. I am now going to experience the greatest joy and pleasure of taking it down to the local council tip for disposal and will have the pure delight of seeing it finally leave my house for good. I shall be so very glad to see the back of it. So PLEASE, Please DO NOT waste any of your hard earned cash ...
