Steamer
Review of Tefal VC100615 by googeth

Advantages: Locks in Great taste
Disadvantages: None

As i often have people round for dinner parties, i like to ensure that the food of which i prepare is of the highest standard and that it tastes fantastic. If i was to boil or cook my food in the oven the essential flavours and vitamins are lost through that form of cooking. However, after doing research i discovered that the best way to cook your food, is by steaming. My friend reccomended this product to me and i took a chance of purchasing ...
...also many large supermarkets such as tesco. As the dinner party was fast approaching, i decided to do a trail run. I prepared my vegatables, And chicken breasts, There is stacking system, each conpartment for a different type of food. You can steam, fish, chicken, pork, steaks, vegtables. There is also a seperate rice bowl. And a drip tray for collecting juices. You pour your water into the heating department, then place your drip tray into ... Read review

I'd like a steaming hot one!
Review of Russell Hobbs 3501 Round Steamer by sparkled_pixie

Advantages: Easy to use, cheap to buy, does what it promises to do.
Disadvantages: None unless you dont adhere to safety rules.

...steamer was the three tier Russell Hobbs 3501 Steamer. I choose it because it looked easy to use and it wasn't too expensive at £19.95 and because the box stated that it cooked "Steams rice, vegetables, fish and sea food whilst retaining maximum flavour" which sounded brilliant and something I couldn't live without. There was also the added extra of a steaming guide to cooking your food which came with this steamer, so I would be able to use it straight ...
...comes in the classic white colour only and holds a capacity of 9 litres. It comes with a 1.1 litre rice bowl and has three sections. Each section is made up of a hard plastic basket which you can decide whether or not you want to use them and make it one or two tier as required. The base of the steamer is also where you are required to put hot water, preferably from a boiled kettle into so that it can cook your food, there is a clear indicator based ... Read review

Morphy Richards 48715 S/Steel Oval SlowCooker 6.5L
Review of Morphy Richards 48715 by mikenewborn

Advantages: Large Volume, 3 Temp Settings, Nice Aesthetics and Design
Disadvantages: A few stipulations regarding foods that can be cooked and how to use the cooker, although these are general to Slow Cookers and not this model alone

This cooker comprises of a nice stainless steel outer shell, a big / heavy, sturdy ceramic inner pot and a toughened glass lid. Would tie in nicely if you have stainless steel / chrome appliances. The removable ceramic pot has a capacity to 6.5ltr to the brim, with a recommended working capacity of 4.5ltr, plenty big enough to feed 4-6 people. The pot is dishwasher safe and can easily be transported to the table for serving. The cooker is of an ...
...joints of meat The cooker has handles which don't conduct heat so the unit can be moved (for whatever reason) during cooking without burning yourself. The lid is made from toughened glass, so you can monitor the food during cooking. The reason I bought a slow cooker was so I could make some tasty meals, with little to no effort, and not have to hover around the hob for ages stirring dishes. Also the fact I could put something on before work, then ... Read review

Value for money steamer with durable baskets
Review of Morphy Richards 48755 by starbaby19

Advantages: durable baskets
Disadvantages: water collector not as big as other models

...quickyly. This model from Morphy Richards has been brilliant. it is black and chrome and therefore fits in with my other small appliances in the kitchen. The baskets are very strong and durable and all fit in side each other and therefore don't take up too much space. I have a proper timer on this model which is great as with the aquatimer I had to guess most of the time how long the vegetables had been cooking for. So far I have been very impressed ...
...old model with veg being cooked to perfection. I have yet to try cooking fish but I am sure that will be just as good. The other excellent thing is that this is so easy to clean as all of the parts just go straight into the dishwasher. This was the feature that impressed me most and I can't see these baskets breaking as quick as the Tefal model as the base of the baskets is one solid peace. The only downside to this product is that the water collector ... Read review

Cookworks Silver 3 Bowl Steamer
Review of Cookworks 3 BOWL Steamer by sallyspud

Advantages: steams veggies, healthy, very cheap. Easy to refill with water mid use.
Disadvantages: longer cook times than guidelines, beware of heat at end of cooking

...through Argos & found the Cookworks 3 bowl steamer in silver at only £12.99. Nowhere on this is a model number, not even on the instructions, but thats the title of the product. The picture at the bottom represents my model. It has 3 big bowls & a unit at the bottom with the controls to generate the steam from water you put in the trough at the bottom. It has a maximum & minimum water guage, which is very usefull as you can see if the waters getting ...
...system where the bottom containing the element, water & controls, has 2 handle looking sides, in them is a hole. You can tip extra water into this hole instead of dismantling all the levels whilst cooking. Which is very handy as Im sure you would burn yourself if you had to fill it mid flow. You have on the bottom control unit a timer switch. It is very primative, it is a turn switch that ticks away till it gets to 0, then a bell goes off, like ... Read review
