This cooker comprises of a nice stainless steel outer shell, a big / heavy, sturdy ceramic inner pot and a toughened glass lid. Would tie in nicely if you have stainless steel / chrome appliances. This is one of those items that I thought I'd get, it would be a bit of a fad, and would end up stuck in the cupboard. I was wrong though! Maybe I'm naive, but it's surprising how much you can actually cook using this, it's not just for steaming your veg at all. I have also steamed fish, rice, even a whole chicken, and my mum has made a chocolate cake (which was delicious, and because it came from a steamer, you could kid yourself it was healthy!). ...
...but it's actually easier than you'd think, because you can use one, two or all three of the bowls, you can cook a whole meal in it, so there is actually less washing up. Also, the middle bits come away, so you can put a whole chicken in, and this also makes it easier to clean (the bowls go in the dishwasher too). My experience with this product was fantastic, not only is it compact enough to fit almost anywhere in your kitchen it also has health benefits. Its much healthier to steam vegetables because you get more of the goodness and you can also steam fish. The price for what you are getting is extremely good value for what it gives. You can tip extra water into this hole instead of dismantling all the levels whilst cooking. Which is very handy as Im sure you would burn yourself if you had to fill it mid flow.
