Morphy Richards 48715 S/Steel Oval SlowCooker 6.5L
Review of Morphy Richards 48715 by mikenewborn

Advantages: Large Volume, 3 Temp Settings, Nice Aesthetics and Design
Disadvantages: A few stipulations regarding foods that can be cooked and how to use the cooker, although these are general to Slow Cookers and not this model alone

This cooker comprises of a nice stainless steel outer shell, a big / heavy, sturdy ceramic inner pot and a toughened glass lid. Would tie in nicely if you have stainless steel / chrome appliances. The removable ceramic pot has a capacity to 6.5ltr to the brim, with a recommended working capacity of 4.5ltr, plenty big enough to feed 4-6 people. The pot is dishwasher safe and can easily be transported to the table for serving. The cooker is of an ...
...joints of meat The cooker has handles which don't conduct heat so the unit can be moved (for whatever reason) during cooking without burning yourself. The lid is made from toughened glass, so you can monitor the food during cooking. The reason I bought a slow cooker was so I could make some tasty meals, with little to no effort, and not have to hover around the hob for ages stirring dishes. Also the fact I could put something on before work, then ... Read review

Value for money steamer with durable baskets
Review of Morphy Richards 48755 by starbaby19

Advantages: durable baskets
Disadvantages: water collector not as big as other models

...quickyly. This model from Morphy Richards has been brilliant. it is black and chrome and therefore fits in with my other small appliances in the kitchen. The baskets are very strong and durable and all fit in side each other and therefore don't take up too much space. I have a proper timer on this model which is great as with the aquatimer I had to guess most of the time how long the vegetables had been cooking for. So far I have been very impressed ...
...old model with veg being cooked to perfection. I have yet to try cooking fish but I am sure that will be just as good. The other excellent thing is that this is so easy to clean as all of the parts just go straight into the dishwasher. This was the feature that impressed me most and I can't see these baskets breaking as quick as the Tefal model as the base of the baskets is one solid peace. The only downside to this product is that the water collector ... Read review

Huge Slow Cooker
Review of Morphy Richards 48730 by GordonHusband

Advantages: Cooks large stews/curries without burning. Huge!
Disadvantages: Huge. Timer a bit naff.

...not find much on the Morphy Richards web site. So here below I attempt to give a bit of detail which I have gathered from my use of it. On first using it, I thought that perhaps that it had a thermostat but soon realised this was not so. The control is a fairly basic timer which in order to make it idiot proof has an annoying feature. The amount of time this timer is set to at default is 6 hours. However, you can alter this to less by use of ...
...to more by use of the plus button to a maximum of 12 hours. But I repeat, the minimum time it can be set is 4 hours. During the first part of the timed cooking, until it reaches 4 hours to go, the cooker is at maximum heat, presumably 350 watts. It is not insulated in any way and the metal sides become too hot to touch, while the glass lid is just about touchable. When the countdown timer gets to 4 hours, it clicks off and on: 40 seconds on, 20 ... Read review

The Proof of the Pudding.....
Review of Morphy Richards 48850 by Kukana

Advantages: Healthy steamed vegetables, family-sized, easy to top-up, inexpensive
Disadvantages: A little flimsy, seems awkward to assemble at first, easy to scald oneself in the steam

...He pointed out the Morphy Richards 48850 steamer which was labelled 'Healthsteam'. There were samples of all the steamers on display so we took them apart to compare. All of them had plastic baskets which felt a bit flimsy, and this bothered me somewhat. However the Morphy-Richards version came with a two-year guarantee and it's a name we trust; when I discovered that it also had a good instruction guide and a recipe book, I decided to opt for that ...
...Putting it together was reasonably easy once I had realised that the baskets had to be stacked in a particular order. Eventually I spotted that the handles were labelled 'top', 'middle' and 'bottom', to make this easier. The bases are easily removable, and a little awkward to fix in place. When steaming just one type of food, only the top basket is used since the lid fits it. The instruction guide was straightforward and clear, and while the recipe ... Read review

HA ! TWO MEALS AT ONCE !!
Review of Morphy Richards 48885 by thingywhatsit

Advantages: Food preparation at its easiest.
Disadvantages: None that I know of.

...my worktops, and here the Morphy Richards comes into its own, as all the pieces neatly stack and fit nicely in the cupboard between uses. I live with a vegetarian and until I bought this gadget, my cooking was a lot more hit and miss. I tend to put a meal on and then forget about it, go and do something else, and do not remember my cooking until burning smells come from the kitchen. Well things have changed !! and for the better. Now with this ...
...the same price, and the Morphy Richards is much more versatile in that you have three layers as opposed to two. The Russell Hobbs in the same price bracket was too square looking and had little places where I could envisage dirt being trapped, whereas this one is very easily cleaned. The Kenwood steamer's design let it down as opposed to this one, being cone shaped and quite ugly. DISHERWASHER PROOF - Most of the steamers that I compared this one ... Read review
