So its the first time you walked into a pub, your still 16 and faced the bar trying to make up your mind about what to drink. Then something suddenly hits you that maybe you should try Stella it sounds cool. That first decision came 4 years ago in a pub that no longer bears the same name, however unlike the pub my drinking habits haven't changed dramatically.
One of Belgium's more famous beer exports Stella has been around since 1717 when Sebastian Artois bought the Duchy of Leuven Brewery in Den Horen and originally started brewing Stella. The brewery had been brewing beer since 1366 but really took off after the brewery was bought. The first time Stella was released it was as a limited edition for Christmas with the Stella star on the bottle to represent the Christmas Star.
Of course Stella in Britain is no longer imported from Beligum and has been produced in the Uk since 1926. Of course for anyone that doesn't know Stella is one of the strongest Lager's available on tap in the Uk at 5.2% alcohol content. Personally I do prefer European Lager's to the American stuff and Stella on tap is probably still my favourite although I have had a few killer hangovers after a night on Stella as im sure many Stella drinkers will testify to.
Taste;
I'm sure most people upon leaving a pub have pocketed one of those really nice Stella glasses. Best served in a tall straight glass and served quite cool, it has a clear, golden complexion and should have a nice white foamy head. With every pint of Stella no matter how many you have the first taste is always the same, with a sweet malty after taste.
A very crisp refreshing pint Stella is perfect whether its just for a couple of pints on a nice lunch time in the summer, or even on a Friday or Saturday night out for a few drinks. As I mentioned before Stella on tap tastes a lot better than out of a bottle or a can but hey it doesn't cause too much of a problem.
Conclusion
So there we go Stella Artois a tasty lager that a lot of people start on and may occasionally wander from but always end up back there with a pint of 'Wife Beater' a name often linked to A Street Car Named Desire.
And hey if you don't fancy a pint of Stella on its own and want to have a cheap night out may I suggest a Turbo Shandy. However I must stress before I give you the ingredients this is something you have to do yourself its not something they will do at the bar.
You'll need;
1) A pint of Stella 2) A Bottle of Smirnoff Ice 3) A Blue Aftershock (Optional if you want to get really drunk)
First Drink half of the pint of Stella then add the bottle of Smirnoff ice and if you wish the aftershock mix if you can find something to mix with if not give it a quick swish and enjoy the resulting drink.

Advantages: Tasty, clean crisp flavour, Moorish, can drink it all night Disadvantages: Expensive, can remain over the limit for driving for the whole of the next day
