Stella Artois [TV Advertisement]

Dear beer is how I'd describe Stella, and it isn't as good as Bud but the ads are quite funny. There are two I'll cover, girlfirends shoes and dying dad. The first is where this guy has a girlfriend who wants some new shoes because theres a hole in the bottom so the guy goes to buy them but on the way passes a bar and buys a Stella instead, and nicks a beer mat. he puts this beer mat in her shoe and its as good as new. The adverts for Stella Artois will try and tell you that the beer is “Reassuringly Expensive”. It isn’t and, I think, these adverts don’t do the beer any favours. I love Stella. It is my choice of beer. It is smooth and yet it is strong (5.2% vol). It isn’t expensive either! I’m a student, the cost of booze is a sense innate in my very blood stream. Mind you, as a disclaimer, I will admit that I do live in Edinburgh and the drinks up here tend to be a little more expensive than “middle England”. All of Stella Atrois recent adverts have been particularly effective in my opinion. The first on I remember was of a man travelling, helping people out, fixing a wheel, delivering a calf, and carrying a man across a stream, so when they see him in the bar they offer to buy him a drink. He chooses Stella, then no one is willing to pay! So he has to mend the roof for his pint! Another of the ads involved a man saving money to buy wis wife some shoes, but he exchanges them for a pint, and patches up the hole in her shoes with a beer mat!
